The BBC forgot to mention that the "enemy" which the B2 sortees will annihilate, have no defence against $billion stealth technology, it's not a fair fight, it's like a bully tearing the wings off a fly, just because he can.

I just wrote this, please ignore the BBC comment at the end, I just thought it would put their backs up a bit.

I recently read Nick Childs, article glorifying the stealth bomber on your website and felt compelled to write in. I have never read such a teenage boy interpretation of a machine that is shortly to be used to kill, yes KILL thousands of civilians. But hey, at least the deaths will be Iraqi not the honorable american pilots who sneak in their undetectable planes and despatch their deadly load?

"We kick the door down. We'll target the integrated air defences, the command structures, early warning systems, everything that'll make it easier for the rest of the planes to come in afterwards and do their job."

That job, is supposedly the mass destruction and wanton waste of life of the iraqi people, after all there will be no air defence of military targets left according to Major "pita".

Does Nick Childs not realise that it is precisely because of the west's infatuation with expensive big boy's toys such as the stealth bomber that is causing this war? That our lust for bigger, more expensive, faster, and noiser vehicles and weapons, has created a society that relies upon oil. A substance that not only pollutes our planet, but one that we in the west do not have ready supplies of. Therefore it is the job of Bush and his cronies to wage war on the countries that do have these supplies i.e Iraq.

They of course need the support of the voters, so this is where idiots like Nick Childs come into the picture. Whip up some hysteria, turn the war into a spectacle, remove the fact people are actually going to die from the picture.

I had hoped that the BBC was above such blatant propaganda, it seems not.

I notice the phrase "crowd pleaser" was one used by the US military. It was in inverted commas. You didn't make this clear. As far as I can see there isn't any 'war-wank', the article seems a fairly objective description of the B-2's bombing capabilities to me. I strongly recommend you save your wrath for channel 5.

I just noticed that the lower two paragraphs were subtitled stuff like 'kicking the door down' and 'ready to fight'. This is quite atrociously jingoistic, but were they added after ther journalist had submitted their piece to the beeb I wonder?

This piece about the Stealth bomber is a disgrace.
How can the BBC justify glorifying such a weapon with the knowledge that over a million innocent people have been killed in Iraq by the US & UK forces?

Perhaps Mr.Childs is excited with the graphic footage potential the stealth bomber can deliver his bosses in broadcasting house?
Or maybe he has a genuine blood-lust for the Iraqi people which he is unable to control?

Either way, does refering to missiles carried on the aircraft as "crowd-pleasers" sound like normal, rational behaviour? What crowds would be pleased exactly? The people being hit by the bombs or the people watching on tv?

Perhaps Mr. Childs could do with a rest and a quiet word with his doctor. He seems to have some issues that need to be addressed.

The entire article is very disturbing and should be removed from the BBC news website. It is not news, it is propaganda.

When the mass graves are being are dug for Iraqi conscripts and innocent civilians, men, women, children and infants, as in Afghanistan, all Zionist-controlled-news-media whores must know, they are complicit in these crimes against humanity, for biased reporting, mind-numbing distractions (Becks and Posh) propaganda and lies, and whipping up the jingoistic frenzy which will propel us into a Third World War, against a defenceless Third World.

There is no news value in this "article", just thinly disguised warmongering of the most disgusting variety, i.e., the hyper-hypocritical, Blairite DroneBot kind. The slime-sucking creature who wrote this filthy propaganda pornography is beneath contempt, an apt disciple of your Master Goebbels.

That you are capable of publishing such shameless, synchophantic worship of tools of mass murder poised to wreak bloody fury and merciless inferno upon a defenceless civilian population speaks volumes about the moral destitution of your know-towing institution, and the degree to which the BBC is willingly prostituting itself in the service of immoral power by stimulating war-fever among the mindless white-trash of the British and other 'western' populations.
