THE 98TH DEATH IS A WARNING TO THE AKP

THE 98TH DEATH IS A WARNING TO THE AKP
THE 98TH DEATH IS A WARNING TO THE AKP

The seasons go by. Governments come and go, the resistance goes on. But ‘it’ exists and does not allow itself to be forgotten. Dozens of pro- system parties ignore it. The bourgeois politicians talk about God and the world but do not mention this. Every month the media come out with 15,000 or so rubbish news items but they don’t mention this item at all.
But THE RESISTANCE GOES ON, and where voices are not heard, the cries of the dying are a reminder of it. It is not permissible to forget it or allow it to be forgotten.
On November 8, 2002 Serdar Karabulut, who started the Death Fast on July 28, 2001 in the 6th Death Fast Team in Sincan F-Type Prison, died in Ankara Numune Hospital.

TO THE NEW GOVERNMENT IN WAITING!
We ask the party chairman of the AKP (Justice and Development Party, the Islamist party which was successful in Turkey’s recent elections) Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who talks about ‘basic rights and freedoms’ in all his speeches:
What will you do about the F-Type prisons, where basic rights and freedoms are infringed and there are even massacres committed?
Please, what is the government’s big problem?
Those who could not resolve problems were removed from office. What will happen to those who pretend to be able to solve problems?

NOW THE RESPONSIBILITY IS YOURS!
The DSP-MHP-ANAP government was not smashed into the ground at the elections because you are so good, but because in the three and a half years they were in office the country experienced nothing but hunger and oppression.
The high point of the tyranny of the 57th government was the massacre of December 19-22 and the F-Type prisons. Perhaps you have forgotten that or prefer to forget it. The members of parliament of the AKP government kept silent while every day coffins were removed from the prisons of their country.
But now you are no longer mere onlookers. Now you can no longer be silent. Now you can no longer ignore events. The responsibility is yours. Every coffin removed from the prisons will be ascribed to you.

IF YOU IMITATE YOUR PREDECESSOR YOU WILL BE REMOVED FROM POWER WITH JUST AS MUCH GUILT AS THEM!
Don’t talk about ‘state policy’.
Don’t even talk about this being ‘accepted by the EU’.

The death of Serdar Karabulut is a WARNING.
Those who spilled our blood and have our lives on their conscience are unredeemable. In a country where people die in the prisons, words like rights and freedom are empty.
Serdar Karabulut is the 98th martyr of a resistance which is in its third year. As long as you do not solve the problem, the 99th, 100th and 101st martyr will expose your lies. Hey will tell 70 million people that the words about ‘rights and democracy’ are nothing but demagogy.
We are waiting to see your attitude, your policies.
But you should know that we have no time. At this moment, more than 10 Death Fast fighters are at the point of death.
Do not wait for the great resistance to end of its own accord, to collapse with the passage of time. As long as tyranny goes on, there will continue to be many people who tie on a red headband and continue the resistance.
You cannot defeat the resistance. Your only way out is to solve this problem. You should learn this lesson above all from the 57th government and the full two years of this resistance.

Serdar Karabulut:
‘We took a decision, we swore an oath, we put it into practice, we defeated and were defeated. And now they are no more. Following them is a matter of honour, dignity and conscience.’
Serdar Karabulut was a prisoner since 1992. That is, he was a prisoner for about 10 years and in the oligarchy’s prisons he experienced all manner of tyranny.
He was in Buca when there was a massacre on September 21, 1995. His comrades were massacred before him. And in the 1996 Death Fast he watched his comrades die.
In all the time he was in prison nearly all the pro-system parties were in government at one time or other. The Justice Ministers were Oltan Sungurlu, Mehmet Agar, Sevket Kazan, Sami Türk, and Aysel Celikel. They came and went.
None of them could change the beliefs that Serdar Karabulut held since the age of 17.
Our comrade Serdar was born in the village of Alisar in Merzifon/Amasya. He was 32 when he was martyred. He went to middle school in Istanbul/Alibeyköy and to Plevne high school. In 1987 he matriculated at the engineering faculty of Denizli. There he began to take part in the academic-democratic struggle. In the 3rd class at high school he joined Dev-Genc (Revolutionary Youth). On dozens of occasions he was detained, tortured and expelled from school. The system wanted school to be a place where he would change his views, but he persisted in holding revolutionary beliefs while at school and persisted in trying to change the fascist education system. In Izmir he was no longer allowed to attend school, in Usak he started to work for revolutionary magazines. In about 1991 he took on other tasks and participated in work for the illegal part of the organisation. He carried on the struggle against the enemy in the most varied ways. After a time he joined the rural guerrillas in th! e Aegean mountains. While he was continuing his revolutionary activities to liberate the people of the mountains, he was arrested in September 1992.
In prison he was a responsible official and representative and took on various tasks. His last task was to tie the red headband on and use his body as a barricade against an attack aimed at turning the entire country into an F-Type prison. He fulfilled this weighty and honourable duty in full.

* THOSE WHO THINK THEY CAN BREAK PEOPLE LIKE SERDAR MUST THINK AGAIN!
* WE WILL BREAK THROUGH ISOLATION AND CONTINUE TO LIVE WITH OUR BELIEFS!
* SERDAR KARABULUT IS A SIGN OF OUR DETERMINATION TO RESIST, WHICH HAS GONE INTO A THIRD YEAR AND RECORDED 98 MARTYRS. IT IS ALSO A WARNING TO THE NEW GOVERNMENT!
