Anti-war feeling's growth in Belgium
Many people were involved in the annual pacifist action
that takes place in the US military base of Kleine Brogel
They want US nuclear weapons and soldiers out of
Belgium.
125 people in Verviers started the anti war movement.
The demonstration was organized by I V P (Initiative
Verviétoise pour la Paix).
11 days after, there was a 5000 strong crowd in brussels - against war in Irak and for free palestine.
One week after, 10000 people were in the streets
to show their opposition to any military solution in
Irak, in the rest of the world, and for a peace process in
Palestine. The demonstration was organized by a huge
front of 130 little citizen organisations . Trade unions,
socialist, christian and ecologist parties were although
present.
