Who is Harlequin?

kurious oranj | 22.11.2002 17:18

Play Harlequin Banzai and win top prizes!

So far our irrepressible hero H has claimed to be a Direct Action peace campaigner (DAAWN), a Trot (Socialist Party), an anti-Trot old-school Menshevik (World Socialism Movement), a pro-farmer lobbyist (NFU, Countryside Alliance) and a really quite angry opponent of the firefighters.. along the way mixing and matching quotes from Marx and Lenin with lines straight out of The Sun and the Daily Mail. Quite impressive in a strange sort of way!

So, here goes (imagine the accent if you will):

Which group will Angry Shouty Yet Oddly Unconvincing Activist belong to tomorrow?

a) Revolutionary Communist Group
b) Green Anarchist (pick own preferred version)
c) Catholic Townswomens Guild
d) Lib Dems

Place bets now!

I am not a member of any party. I used to be involved with the Class War organisation back in the eighties.

He's filth, plain and VERY Simple

23.11.2002 02:00

At best he's a troll (about thirteen, writing on here inbetween wanks) , worst he's special branch.

On other boards trolls are kicked off, but because IMCers belive for some reason, he should disrupt every way he can the work that people are doing.

IMC WAKE UP AND TAKE SOME RESPONSIBILITY!

Take him off/track him down. If u don't do nowt, your making it too easy for the filth, and being desperatly naive.

Never U Mind

freedom of opinion

23.11.2002 08:25

I don't agree with much that Harlequin says, although he does seem to be anti war, but surely what we are all ,supposedly, fighting for is a free tolerant world where any one can express an opinion. so indymedia should set an example.
as far as i know Harlequin has not posted anything offensive/
racist. So whats the problem ? . I didn't read the indymedia rool book but i'm sure it doesn't mention anything about cops not being allowed to post shit ...
If you have a gripe with Harlequin you should take it up with what he says and not who he is, after all wots in a name ?

oooook

Whatever whatever

23.11.2002 12:42

This stuff isn't news, and therefore shouldn't be on the NEWSwire.

bullshit buster

fuck off harleCwym

23.11.2002 12:51

writing as bogus poster to big ya self up?

u HAVE been racist by defending racist posts, and so that shows your pure ignorance and arrogance.

this is an anti-capatilist board, lets be clear, tory boys are not welcome and should be kicked off, not for merely posting but for disrupting i.e. being a troll.

not da filfth

I am not a troll!

23.11.2002 13:33

If someone agrees with the going ideas they are accused of persistantly following the party line on every issue. I don't do that I have my own opinions on most issues like the firefighters dispute. I support a lot of extreme left organisations but that doesn't mean that I agree with them on every single issue! In the case of the firefighter I think that their union is being unreasonable in refusing to accept a lower pay offer, they have now been offered 16 per cent over two years yet are still holding out for 30 per cent.

Harlequin

what on earth is this about ?

23.11.2002 13:42

just becuase someone starts chirping in with views which might be a bit contrarian, suddenly we get campaigns to search him out (MI5 would approve the sentiment) and to censor him (how Mary Whitehouse would love that!). IMC is not a closed club, so please have the intellectual capacity to tolerate a contributor who might not agree with you at any given moment

green riot thug

He's infamous

23.11.2002 18:23

Harlequin, steelgate, and formerly Derek, they're all the same. Real name Angus (allegedly). Banned from U75 and themoononline.com. Believes that rape is no worse than thieving a loaf of bread, and that men have a right to take what they can't get for free. Pays for it too apparently. Has some very strange ideas.

Debate is split as to whether this salesman of the Big Issue (apparently) who lives in a squat (apparently) is really the slightly disturbed and limited individual he portrays on the internet and at various meets, or is in fact the ubertroll, so consumed with his character he even plays him in real life when confronted with fellow net users.

The decision is yours.
