Wake up world Zimbabwe is dying!

Harlequin | 22.01.2003 15:57

In Zimbabwe today more than half the population are starving! There is state hijcking of food aid. State prevention of food production. Unemployment of over 70 per cent. Inflation out of control - 200% and rising! Stae approved murder and torture. The press has been muzzled and the judiciary subverted with some judges jailed.

At independence Zimbabwe was heralded as the bread basket of Africa. Since Mugabe's land reform began in 2000 the harvest of maize the staple grain has fallen by more than 70 per cent. leaving nearly 7 million people on the brink of starvation. The distribution of international food aid is highly politicised and anyone suspected of supporting the opposition is left hungry. Most Zimbabweans agree that land reform is essential but not like this!

Support the vigil every Saturday outside the Zimbabwe high commisson 12 noon to 1800. Attend the Zimbabwe forum Mondays in the George opposite the Royal Courts of Justice in the Strand 7:30pm.

THE PRICE OF MARXISM

22.01.2003 19:28

The price of marxism = a first world country becomes a third world banana republic.

U let niggers run a country and this is what you get

Nothing to do with realism

22.01.2003 20:20

The comments of Realism and Truth are pretty interesting.
A moderately articulate idiot who can spell and use faily long words but has no grasp of historical subjectivity followed by a plain idiot.

While an Imperial power is busy extracting raw materials (whether that is mineral, vegetable, or purely in terms of man-hour or strategic advantage) stability is desirable.

The occupation of Rhodesia was no paradise for any but the occupiers and their collaborators. No revolution occurs without just cause and strong motive.

All the Rhodesian occupation demonstrates is that stability is possible and beneficial for all people and that we have the potential capacity to help others effectively given the RIGHT motives. The unfortunate fact of the matter is that while the barbaric Europeans often create moments of peace structural reliability in their annexed territories, this is only ever with a view to creating far greater large-scale disruption and bloodshed elsewhere. The other unfortunate fact, often ignored by all, is that before the European invasions Africa, S.America and N.America had advanced civilisations, that whilst equally far from any utopian ideals from the European models just lacked the weaponry to defend themselves.

22.01.2003 23:16

Sorry to see your post has been greeted by such a bunch of inane assholes
Africa is being starved to death because they're all a bunch of "useless eaters" and they aint got no oil
All they're good for in the new world order scheme of things is mostly dying
The pathetic wanks that have contributed so far, haven't the slightest idea how much this is a manipulated situation, how race has no countenance

Mugabe is not a real Marxist!

23.01.2003 08:38

Mugabe is not a real Marxist anyone can see that. If he was he would have organised fair and democratic land redistribution not the chaos and terror in Zimbabwe today. If anything Mugabe is despot and not fit to rule. His ideas bear no resemblance to Marxism at all which means the democratic control of all the means of production by everyone and a plan of production where the needs of the people before profits.

Mugabe has given vast tracts of land in payment for oil to Lybia and most of the prime agricultural land now belongs to Mugabe's family, party leaders, police and army.

hey hey it's the Nazis!

The comment by 'Realist' is, more or less word-for-word, a re-posted article from a BNP magazine.

And 'truth' is blatantly a US-style white supremacist.
