Is this just wishful thinking? Whether it's Blair or another Bilderberg
stooge, makes no difference. Or is he going to become the new millennium's
Lee Harvey? Fwd for info only.

Brits Move To Dump Blair
By Mark Burdman

2-18-3

After a day, Feb. 15, which saw the largest political demonstration
ever in London, with two million marchers protesting plans for a war in
Iraq, and with tens of thousands marching in Glasgow and Belfast, moves
gathered pace, among leading circles in the ruling Labour Party and
elsewhere, for British Prime Minister Tony Blair to be dumped, as soon as
that can be arranged.

Blair can be toppled!

19.02.2003 23:57

The British people did not vote directly for Tony Blair to be Prime Minister, they voted for their respective Labour MP's who gained a majority in Parliament and Blair only happens to be PM because he leads the party at the moment. But that does not stop Labour MP's and part members from ditching him now and electing a new leader, especially now that he has become a liability, like Thatcher became a liability to the Tories and at the height of her powers was ditched.

Everyone who has a Labour MP should now hassle them to oust Blair and save their party or face the consequences in the elections, local Labour Parties should be lobbied to pressure their MP’s to threaten to de-select their sitting MP, we should encourage ordinary members to tear up their membership cards, therefore denying Labour essential income though the loss of subscriptions.

The Trade Unions who financially back Labour can be very effective too, they provide millions of pounds, and if that money was withdrawn then the Labour Party will be financially crippled.

I believe even at this late stage we can stop this war and we should make the Labour Party are prime target, protesting through the streets is not enough, direct (non-violent) action is urgently needed. We can get to Blair through the party.

Missing a point

20.02.2003 00:36

Stuey I think you're missing the point. Blair is the most visible target for now. But if he becomes a liabilty who will replace him? I couldn't care less who it is except for the repression they'll bring with them.

It's time for them all to go Stuey

Blair is not the answer

20.02.2003 00:49

i think there is a real problem in the anti-war movement when people try to personalise things. there has been a real move towards blaming the crisis in the middle east, and the crisis of capitalism in general, on tony blair and george bush as individuals. it is not because of their war mongering personalities that our countries are going to war on Iraq, it is the decadent system of imperialism that drives them in their search for greater control of natural resources and access to cheap labour. to blame blair and bush personally for the crisis is inaccurate, irresponsible and detracting from the real problem. we have to show people that it is the very nature of imperialism that it must go to war. also to think that we can change the murderous, imperialist labour party from the inside is wrong. the Labour Party has never failed to be an enemy of the working class from its inception, be it through betraying the irish peoples struggle, selling out in the great general strike, supporting both the imperialist world wars, and more recently bombing yugoslavia, then iraq, then afghanistan and now iraq again. Labour will never represent the interests of the british working class and we must fight to expose them, and their so called 'left' members who continue to tell us to vote for their blood thirsty party. we need to provide the working class with real alternatives, not support for the labour party or any of its members!! tony blair is happy to have these dissident labour left mps in his party as they continue to dupe people to believing that voting labour will make lives better for us. we must open our eyes and see that this party, which has dropped more bombs than the previous 18 yrs of tory administration, is no different from any other capitalist party!!!

Ditch the last post

20.02.2003 12:18

That last post is a plug for a political party and therefore falls outside of the guidelines for acceptable use of this forum ... bye bye

It is obvious to many of us that party politricks holds no answers but that doesn't mean that it would not make good sense in the struggle to avoid this war to ensure that blair is given the push.

Grand Deception

20.02.2003 14:22

The World is full of "personalities" to blame - Mugabe, Putin, Clinton, Bush, Bin Laden, Blair, Hussein, Berlusconi, Howard, Shroeder, Sharon, Chirac and Arafat but these are all mere players in the theatre of war, directed by an even more sinister, faceless Cabal.

Fed up with the rubbish...

21.02.2003 03:18

This story is getting a bit tired. Why worry about the Iraq Crisis when there is the Tony Blair Crisis to resolve? Why march and protest about something that should not happen? Why avoid talking about what is important any longer? With 9/11 big government lied - the Arabs had nothing to do with it. It was 'only an arms trade protest' and everything to do with the DSEi arms-trade fair that opened at exactly the same time in London docklands. The media reported the big lie as verbatim truth and most of the populace were hoodwinked. Openly talking about this issue outside of 'govt./media' is the way forward - nobody can lock you up for talking the truth.
The Afghan issue is quite a problem for the 'coalition' that prosecuted T.W.A.T. on the basis of no evidence whatsoever. Most criminals get dealt with according to crimes already made not for new ones that may or may not happen. The same applies to the Tony and George show. They are the criminals and the crime that they dragged us through was one of GENOCIDE - a crime against all humanity. GENOCIDE is easy to look up for a dictionary definition and easily understandable. In the Afghan campaign the minority Arab population were exterminated - not really a 'just' war no matter how indoctrinated one is regarding the 'Taliban being evil'. The real evil is at home, with Tony and George, and their criminal clique knew in advance about September 11. They deliberately lied about it in order to get their war - costing you the taxpayer something like $40 billion - and all profits to them.
There is no point worrying about the Iraq crisis - the issue is the 'Tony and George Crisis'. Sodom is only a distraction so don't fall for it - openly talk about 9/11 and the arms trade fair that went on at the same time. This is the issue to put first.
