WAR HAS BEGUN!

03.03.2003 17:06

On sunday GWI reported that four U2 spy planes had arrived at USAF Fairford and that an increased troop activity could be seen with in the base through out Sunday, as Monday has progressed more and more evidence is pointing to an imminent war has emerged.
The UK media have widely reported a noticeable increase in air strikes with in Iraq and widening of targets open to attack, almost certainly in paving the way for war, with ground defence aswell as air defence are now under attack. War hasn't been declared, it should have been, but of course certain governments are scared of the back lash ( if war is declared ) that they will receive if they dare to utter those words.
Now we hear that GWI expects the imminent arrival of B2 stealth bombers at Fairford, if war hasn't started then will do soon, start making the necessary preparations we must prepare to demonstrate, in what ever way we see necessary, that this is unacceptable and intolerable in our society.

how official/big?

03.03.2003 17:57

how 'official' is this? will there be many people or is it not a real thing? I know thats not a great attitude but I can't persuade people to go if they think it'll just be a handful of 'crazy' people.

Reports say 6 civilians killed

Six Iraqis die' in US-UK raids

03.03.2003 19:30

the beeb already said in an earlier article that the US an UK were stepping up their bombing raids, here they say they have
widen the scope of the raids, probably now includes schools and hospitals, hope the Iraqies don't drive tractors as they will be prime targets for A10 tank busters as in Kosovo !!

Six Iraqis die' in US-UK raids
Six Iraqis have been
reported killed and 15
wounded in an overnight
US-British air strike that is
being described as part of an
aggressive shift in policy.

The raid took place late on
Sunday in the southern
province of Basra, an Iraqi
spokesman said.

The US defence department says it has expanded the number
of military targets which can be attacked by US and British
planes patrolling the no-fly zones over northern and southern
Iraq.

US officials say the strikes have focused on rocket launchers
and other weapons which could be used against Allied troops
or neighbouring countries if an invasion were to take place.

Baghdad routinely describes the targets of the air raids as
civilian, while US and UK authorities say they attack only
military targets and make every effort to avoid causing civilian
casualties.

The UK Ministry of Defence says it is investigating the Iraqi
claims that six civilians were killed in Basra.

A spokesman said the claims
were being taken seriously, but
stressed that Baghdad had
made previous claims of civilian
casualties which were found to
be untrue.

The no-fly zones - which have
never been sanctioned by the
United Nations - were imposed
by the US, Britain and France,
in what was described as a
humanitarian effort to protect
Shia Muslims in the south and Kurds in the north.

The US says its aircraft are responding only to Iraqi
provocations. And the UK Government has issued a statement
denying that the new targets represent a more aggressive
role for its aircraft in Iraq.

Missiles

Iraq on Monday destroyed six more banned Al-Samoud II
missiles, bringing the total in three days to 16.

It also destroyed two empty warheads, the UN said.

But White House spokesman Ari Fleischer said Iraq's
destruction of the missiles was proof that President Saddam
Hussein had continually lied.

He said since Saddam Hussein was destroying weapons which
he had previously said did not exist, how could the world
know he did not have other weapons hidden elsewhere.

"Iraq is not co-operating. Despite whatever limited head-fakes
Iraq has engaged in, they continue to fundamentally not
disarm," Mr Fleischer told reporters.

Iraq has about 120 al-Samoud II missiles, which the UN says
breach range limits imposed after the Gulf War.

Baghdad has pledged to submit a detailed report before 10
March on what happened to its stocks of anthrax and VX
agent, UN officials said.
