Outside Slough town hall on the 20th at about 6pm, we (me and about 50 other anti-war protesters) managed to block off the traffic for a good 15-20 minutes. The police didn't do anything at first but then came over and asked us nicely if we could move ('ambulances and police cars use this road' etc.) so we did. Then they stood on the side of the road to make sure we didn't try it again but we continued to make a lot of noise and wave banners about. There were several 'BEEP IF YOU THINK THIS WAR IS ILLEGAL' signs and we got quite a good reaction from the drivers, although some idiots stuck their fingers up instead. One policeman told us that we weren't making enough noise, which was a pleasant suprise! We did, but we asked why he wasn't joining in. He said that he wasn't allowed to. Oh well. A policewoman said that she thought Bush and Blair were twats. I had a whistle myself and someone gave me a banner ('STOP THE WAR') when he left.

Someone who had been taking photos throughout the event congratulated us and made us all aware of the demo in London this Saturday. A group of teenagers walked further down the road when most people began to leave (about 7:30pm) and randomly jumped infront of the traffic and held it up once again for 5 or so minutes.

It was all quite good fun and I think we definitely got our message across. While we were on the road, chanting several things such as 'what do we want!? peace! when do we want it!? now...!' this old man insisted we did his own one, but no one was listening. It was quite funny watching him trying to get us going. I don't think he realised we were already shouting..!?
