Having done some very brief school boy mathematics,

If all of the OIL in IRAQ was to be used exclusively by america it would only give america an extra 15 years at the current consumption rate.

30 Years if the unproven reserves of 100 billion barrels are discovered.

US consumption is currently 19.3 Million Barrels Per Day
IRAQ Reserves are currently estimated at 112 Billion Barrels.

112 Billion Barrels / 19.3 Million Barrels per Day = Gives you 5773 Days, or Aprrox 15 Years ... YES 15 YEARS OF OIL ...

15 years is based on the USA having sole use of the IRAQI reserves, and not sharing them with the rest of the world (this would seriously fuck up there supply chain as it evolves around cheap oil based goods been produced elsewhere)

At current global consumption rates the worlds OIL will be dry in 30 years absolute maximum, 9 Years if unsustainded growth is to continue


The real problem for america now is IRAN, iran has recently discovered massive oil reserves, if iran wants to share these with the world then the world will have an extra 4 / 15 years to get its arse into gear whilst sustainable fuel sources are researced (viable one, as things like biodiesel only take away food crops!!!)

The US knows exactly what countries have oil reserves from data collected from a shuttle survey of the earth some years ago (this data has not been shared with the rest of teh world)

IRAN must do all it can to escape the next OIL war so america will not have sole use of this resource. Its only possible answer is to quickly call in the UN to protect it, develop Weapons of Mass Destruction, or offer its reserves in some kind of military polical alliance with the remaining UN countries.
