"Under the Prevention of Terrorism Act,you can't take tarps to Gate 10" We cannot permit the camp to expand. Yes. We know it's raining and Gate 10 has requested tarps. But no." "By the way. You can no longer take them wood or coal unless it's smokeless." It may be April fools Day but it really just happened!
"Furthermore you cannot return thos two camping stools you said you iadvertaently stole from the camp as no additional camping equipment is allowed." That's a first! Police preventing the return of stolen goods and making no arrest - dereliction of duty I call it.
We have made alternative arrangements but welcome any legal beagles out there who could advise how to re-establish Camp's right to food, shelter and warmth.
For example..what does squatters' rights (which I believe camp has) mean - can they build extensions and re-roof?
What more exactly can they have as food, warmth and shelter?
On a lighter note...
Swindon is committed to supporting the Camp along with others and has a one month birthday Party activity as a surprise tomorrow all lined up...it could go in the Guiness Book of Records as the world's first .....(secret, secret, secret.)
ps Radio Swindon is to interview me at 7.10am tomorrow morning - suggestions as to what to say welcomed..mot that I'm not short of words of peace and venim about the whole situation.

Some suggestions:
1) Maybe you could just ignore them and walk past and challenge them to arrest you, it would make an interesting court case.
2) Try again but try to get it on film to make the cops look stupid - then distribute on Indymedia and around news networks, not that Blair's Broadcasting Company or Idiot Trivial News will take any notice!
3) Get the coppers names and numbers and put them on Indymedia, so if anyone comes accross them they can tell the pigs they are a bunch of stupid moronic muppets who follow any old crap orders, who seriously think a tarp is terrorist material!

on squatting rights, contact the Advisory Service for Squatters in London - do a websearch for their contact/website. They're ace.
