almost as antagonistic as the guerilla lot, ehh?; apart from the semantic puritanism, where does it lead us, one may ask;

Not quite sure about this story.
You seem to be saying that there is a sex pest amongst the Guerilla Gardeners, well why not try to work to get that person expelled from the group or expose them? Comparing Guerilla Gardners with Bush and Monsanto is going a bit far. Are men exluded from the peace gardening group? Why are you so worried about the world Guerilla? Men want peace as well.

We do have many men who are part of the new peace gardening movement and who are equally happy not to be guerrillas. Many are ex-guerrilla gardeners. Men are very interested in peace gardening. Hope that clarifies.

We have pointed out the sexual predator in the guerrilla gardening group in Toronto and unfortunately the guerrilla gardening group has taken the position that it is men's right to rape. In fact they have said that you can't use the word peace when you talk about gardening or nature because they say this is anti-revolutionary. Some guerrilla gardeners in Toronto have even gone so far as saying they were going to beat up anyone who uses the word "peace". Ocap and anti-poverty activists in Toronto are very annoyed by this groups tactics because they basically have been sabotaging attempts to garden for the hungry in Toronto. They claim they have no interest in the fact that people in the city are hungry and that is not their concern.

We also have more diversity in our group. Some people who come from countries where they have experienced guerrilla attacks like Columbia seem more comfortable.

Unfortunately, Toronto Guerrilla Gardeners has been the subject of a hate campaign by one disturbed former member, Karen Harrison. In the spring of 2002, Ms. Harrison objected to the name 'Guerrilla Gardeners' and we listened to her complaints. Her argument was based on the supposed violent nature of the name. Some suggested that the name was ironic and humourous as we were planting flowers in an effort to beautify the urban environment. Ms. Harrison took offense and after a long discussion, we voted to retain the name. Ms. Harrison since then formed her own group, Peace Gardeners, which consists soley of herself. Her abrasive personality has meant that no one wishes to join her as she rants about all the supposed injustices commited against her.

GG and its members has been enduring the false allegations of Ms. Harrison for the past year and a half. When she has made libelous statements, we have asked her for proof of her claims. She is unable to provide any factual backups for her claims because they are all false. We have warned her repeatly to stop making false allegations but she has persisted and posted her rants on websites. Indy Media Ontario has seen fit to remove her past postings and we have had to ask her web hosts to prevent her posting libelous material.

Ms. Harrison is emotionally unstable and wastes her time attacking the social activist community in Toronto. Several groups, including OCAP, have been subject to her allegations and she has been ostracized from the community. Her behaviour has become increasingly irrational and violent. Many people, including her family, have tried to get Ms. Harrison help but she refuses to recognize the problems she is causing.
