Calling time on Tory Blair

anti-Blair | 23.05.2003 12:49

A call for creative expression of opposition to Tony Blair.

Many of us are incensed for Bush in the immoral, unprovoked and unnecessary war on Iraq. His support shows acceptance, and alignment with, American Neo-Conservative policies. We recognise these policies as counter to the interests of Britain and the World.

While many of us recognise Tory Bliar as the War Criminal that he is, there is little indication that the Labour party does. Lets give the Labour party that push they need to dump Blair as their leader.

I am suggesting that we creatively express our opposition to Blair and his government with the objective of getting him dumped as leader. While I will be creating an anti-war website and using other internet channels, I would urge everyone to express themselves and support this campaign according to their own skills and interests. Lets hear the overwhelming demand that the Labour party dumps Blair.

The Labour party conference is to be held 28 September to 2 October 2003.

Here are some suggestions for knocking Blair and his government - I'm sure that there are many more.

War,
Support for Bush and the Neo-Conservatives,
Right-Wing (and Neo-Conservative) Policies,
Labour party democracy (lack of) - centralised control, dictatorial rule, stifling of debate,
Education, Education, Education,
the Health service,
Public Finance Initiative,
Firefighter's Dispute & govt's insistence on reducing the service,
Asylum,
media control,
spin/lying,
sleaze,
cronyism,
etc

Good idea

I would definitely travel from Manchester to demonstrate against Blair on this one.

Sunday 28th might be a good day: the anniversary of the day that 400,000 marched against war in 2002.

On the other hand, maximum disruption might better be caused during the week. The leader usually speaks near the end, right?

Thinking more of an overwhelming demand

I was trying to suggest that this could attract huge support - that together we could produce hundreds of good websites and express ourselves in many ways.

>You could always votes for someone else in the next general election.

Do you work for him?

Your moronic comment suggests that politicians may be held to account through the electoral process. If this was true then there would be no need for political activism.

How I vote will have absolutely no efect on Tony Bliar continuing as leader of the Labour party. It is up to the Labour party to dump him and I am suggesting that we should help them.

I am really disappointed at the defeatist attitude I see here. Look, it's Tony Bliar that went to war as George's little sycophant, it's Tony Blair that repeatedly lied to parliament and to the public, it's Tony Blair that has turned Britain into a terrorist target, it's Tony Blair that hijacked the Labour party so that it's the new Tory party, it's Tony Blair that is making the rich richer and the poor poorer, it's Tony Blair that is fucking up education, the fire service and the health service and it's Tony Bliar that will likely follow Bush in the next unjustified war. Isn't that enough to campaign against him?

September 27 is the third anniversary of the beginning of the second Intifada of the Palestinian people whose resistance against colonial occupation in the past decades has been the very center of the anti-colonial struggle throughout the Middle East.
