Wolfowitz Admits Weapons of Mass Destruction Not Main Reason for Iraq War

www.NewsFromTheFront.org | 31.05.2003 05:52

U.S. Deputy Defense Secretary, Paul Wolfowitz, stated that the decision to highlight Iraq's weapons of mass destruction was done largely for "bureaucratic reasons."

CHICAGO (NFTF.org) -- U.S. Deputy Defense Secretary, Paul Wolfowitz, admitted to the U.S. magazine Vanity Affair that weapons of mass destruction were not the main reason for the U.S.-led attack on Iraq.

In fact, according to Wolfowitz, the purpose of emphasizing weapons of mass destruction as a reason to attack Iraq was because it was "the one reason everyone could agree on." Wolfowitz also stated that the decision to highlight Iraq's weapons of mass destruction was done largely for "bureaucratic reasons."

Despite this, U.S. citizens are unconcerned over Wolfowitz's comments and the failure of the U.S. to find weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. While at one time U.S. citizens considered weapons of mass destruction to be the most important reason for attacking Iraq, now most of the U.S. population is unconcerned whether Iraq actually has such weapons. As stated in the BBC, "All opinion polls show most Americans are unconcerned about the failure so far to find weapons of mass destruction in Iraq."

WMDs and poodles

Probably it doesn't matter to most Americans, and so Rumsfeld and Wolfowitz have been quite casual about it. However, the poodle is much more vulnerable on the issue. How ungrateful the US leadership are to leave the British PM's flank exposed when he has performed such Baldrick-like services for the Project for A New American Century, doing everything for them short of carrying their golf clubs.

... but you see, baldrick is of a different political "flavor" than bush, so bush doesn't care in the least if baldrick's flank is exposed and he gets tossed in the next election, installing the british right. what could be better for bush? somehow, i think this was the idea. or maybe it was just a coincidence...

Reality in the USA; Stop Coming Here

01.06.2003 07:52

The reality in the USA, speaking as one who happens to be an American by nationality, is that most Americans do not think about politics at all. The United States is a profoundly backward country due to a very weak labor movement, which is to say, no movement at all. Because the US has been living off the labor of the world for so long, there have been enough crumbs until now to throw to most of the workingclass so that no labor organizing was done. The reality remains that most Americans have no concept of class struggle and absolutely no interest in anything connected with politics at all.

This brings this writer to the question, why is it that so many people, especially Europeans who are not looking for work, think the US has anything to offer? I see well-dressed tourists all the time in the US and I often wonder, what do they think they will find in this profoundly backward country, with millions of homeless people in the street, hundreds of thousands of businesses closed due to the fact that we are in an economic depression, no national healthcare system, a profoundly anti-intellectual and non-reading public with a population that is 45% functionally illiterate, and much more?

As to the big lie of freedom the USA, you must know by know of the US prison-concentration camp system with 2 million in prison or on parole (out of 287 million people), the existence of the death penalty, and the destruction of our civil rights by recent fascist legislation. Police brutality is common in every workinclass community in this country and there is not and never has been any freedom fro the workingclass. All justice is bought and paid for, the same as in any other capitalist society.

Please tell everyone you know that unless you are coming to the US to work, and are sure you have a job here, please stop coming here. There is absolutely nothing here at all.
