The latest Shortwave Report (August 1) is up at the website http://www.outfarpress.com/outfarpress/shortwave.shtml in both broadcast quality (13.3MB) and quickdownload or streaming form (3.3MB) (29:06) It's free to rebroadcast, please notify me if you're airing it and haven't notified me in the last month, please mention the website if you only air a portion. If you just want to listen and have a slow connection, try the streaming version- lower sound quality but good enough and way easier if you don't have a high-speed internet connection. If streaming is a problem because of your slow connection, download the smaller file- it takes 20 minutes or less, and will play swell in any mp3 player application (RealPlayer, Winamp, Quicktime, iTunes, etc) you have on your computer.
This program will be aired on Friday evening at 7pm on KZYX/Z Philo CA, you might be able to stream via http://www.kzyx.org
There are several other streams that work better- http://www.freakradio.org Freak Radio Santa Cruz (96.3fm) now streams this program on Friday at 9:30am (PDST)
Also check out LavaLamp Radio (Japan)- http://www.radiolavalamp.org

This week's show features stories from Radio Netherlands, China Radio International, the Voice of Russia, Spanish National Radio, and Radio Havana Cuba.
From Netherlands- The former president of Ecuador is seeking asylum in the Dominican Republic. Foreign demonstrators were injured and arrested protesting the wall Israel is building in Palestine. A spokesman for Human Rights Watch describes the worsening situation for civilians and journalists in Afghanistan. The US government released a report on the 9/11 terrorist attack last week, leaving dozens of pages classified- Saudi Arabia wants the complete report made public.
From China- The US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff made a trip to India- here’s an analysis from CRI.
From Russia- A commentary about the duration on the war on Iraq, which George Bush announced was over two months ago.
From Spain- Protests are underway in Bagdhad over the actions of a US military unit called Task Force 20. The US has gathered 30 partners in maintaining the occupation of Iraq, and at the War Crimes Court in Holland, charges against British troops in Iraq are being reviewed. Columbian police have rounded up more rebels in a weekend sweep. In Cuba, Pres Castro has turned down aid from the EU, and the death toll of youth in Guatemala continues to rise.
From Cuba- The chief of right-wing death squads in Columbia, who just cut a deal with Pres Uribe, admits conducting massacres which he feels were justified. Arabic TV station Al-Jazeera and its reporters are under serious harassment by the US military in Iraq. A famed American economist called the Bush presidency the worst in American history.
All that plus times and frequencies for listening at home. I hope you'll listen and air this if you're connected with a radio station. I am still wondering how to get financially compensated for the 25 hours I put into this program weekly- any ideas are appreciated. Any stations rebroadcasting this (or listeners) are welcome to donate for production costs. You can do so through the website. Many thanks to those that have donated! No Guilt!
