REVO

dont trust them! They are really a pawn of sad Trot group workers power who think that we are all dumb enough not to see through them...they are only interested in getting your money and your mind..i know people who joined and then when they discovered it was a front for workers power were told to 'shut up' or leave..wisely they left...
send 'em packing if they turn up at any events..

Revo are.....actually good people

Hi Rach

I'm in revo and have been for a long while and it may suprise many sad small minded on this board but i've never not even once been asked or pressured or anything like that to join Workers Power and the reason for that is cause they don't do it!!!!!

Basiclaly to clarify the link between Revo and WP;

Revo was set up by WP back in the mid 90's as a Independant Youth group with its own manifesto (agreed upon and changed every year by a national meeting of all revo members, there is no central commitee just some people who have more time on there hands and more commitment to doing things behind the scenes (e.g. the wesite, the leaflets, the donkey work) although if anyone wants to get involved in doing anything in revo then they can!!! infact the ammount of times we've tried to get more people involved is silly but in the end generally the same 5 or 6 people end up doing the stuff,
Revo memebers dont pay subs and arent forced to sell papers, all meeting are open and we welcome other groups to debate any issue they like depending on the practicality,
The paper we produce is open to anyone who wants to contribute (providing its not racist homophobic etc) and articles are only edited becuase of space constraints and done so with the full co-operation of the author.
Revo is open to any left wing person(s) who want to get involved with stuff and its non-sectarian and i should know this one cause i consider myself to be an anarchist.

Some advice for you would be not to believe everything you read on this site cause there are alot of silly people who post rubbish and generally have nothing better to do than slag off other groups instead on concentrating on the job we have to do. (Judean peoples front etc)

one last thing i challenge anyone to say that Revo and even WP arent as militant as any other group on the left?!

if you want to find out about a group then come to a meeting and see for yourself, it doesnt cost anything more than the bus or tube fair and we can help you out with that if your hard up.

go to the website www.worldrevolution.org.uk or e-mail  info@worldrevolution.org.uk and ask for details of our meetings and actions.

Thanks

Jb

p.s.

Anyone who wants to challenge any of what i said please do come to a meeting yourself and see what goes on before you slag us off!
anyone who wants to call me a psuedo anarchist get in touch with me through revo and i'll be glad to set you straight

Jb

keep em out!

It's too late sending them packing after they've got in! They might already have got hold of some poor soul and installed a clockwork Trotsky into their brain!

No, at all meetings + actions you must vet everyone who comes in for dodgy authoritarian ideas. Ask everyone who tries to join in whether they reject all authority, including that of Trot parties and Imams and other religious tyrants, and if they fail the test, surround them shouting 'fascist' in their face until they leave!

Isn't

01.08.2003 12:55

Isn't that very authoritarian of you mouse?

Sonic

Thanks

01.08.2003 13:00

Thanks for all your contributions and to jb for sending a lengthly reply..
'a noony mouse' why do you want to question religious people and shout 'fascist' at them? Surely we want campaigns to work it woould be sad that you arent in favour of that

Rach

Re: REVO

Well I think with your sectarian stupidity you have given an excellent *negative example* to all of us. I think it sums up just why anarchism has never got anywhere. Like the joke that goes 'How many anarchists does it take to change a light bulb?' to which the answer is 'None, anarchists never change anything!'.

I do not know if Revolution (REVO) is an independent youth group or not. However if it is it is certainly strongly influenced by the orthodox Trotskyite Workers Power organisation. Their photocopied paper normally holds to the same line (but in a simplified and rather patronising way) as Workers Power, though they sometimes have some other stuff, like a surrealist editorial that made absolutely no sense at all and seemed to be written by someone out of their head.

In many ways I think it is rather dishonest for the Workers Power members/supporters in REVO to hide who they are. It would be better if they identified themselves and sold their paper openly.

Worker's Power / Parties

04.08.2003 13:39

I'm in Workers' Power, and I have never known any of our members to be anything other than open about who they are.

But Nonny Mouse's rejection of parties raises an interesting issue:

If you ban parties from a meeting, activists who are party members will still come, but will have to wear their activist hat, not their party one, at least overtly.

They will then be accused of being sly about being in a party!

How productive is it to force someone to hide their agenda and then denounce them for having a hidden agenda?

Give us a break, man!!! (or mouse).

Good Grief Charlie Brown!

04.08.2003 16:31

I always promised myself I'd retire if folk started taking me seriously! And I think the time has come.

I mean to say, anti-authoritarians vetting and excluding people from events? You can't see the.. no, never mind.

I'm off back to the Mosque now. Allah have mercy on you all. ;-)

Well, I always said I'd retire when people started taking me seriously, and there we go!

I mean to say, vetting people coming to an anti-authoritarian event? You can't see the.. no, never mind.

I'm off back to the Mosque. Allah be with you all!
