Stop Bush! Hear about the revolt in Bolivia...
Public meeting with John Pilger, Jorge Viana activist from Bolivia reporting back from what is happening there and Ashraf El-Bayoumi the organiser of the Cairo conference against US imperialism and globalisation

When John Pilger spoke at the LSE recently, a young student asked "Mr.Pilger, are you suggesting people break the law and use violence against George Bush when he visits London?" "Yes" came the simple reply to cheers from the audience crammed into the lecture theatre.

More glorious hypocrisy from the "peace-loving" left-wingers.

Chuckle! I'm not a leftist so I'm in the BNP? Yet more hypocrisy from the 'tolerant' and 'peace-loving' left-wingers.

Pilger

01.11.2003 14:47

I've admired a lot of Pilger's work, but that comment concerns me a bit too. What was the wider context and did he go on to explain?
No matter how murderous Bush is, it would still be slightly hypocritical to advocate violence, particularly as any violent action wouldn't even get near Bush and would just get police, and security involved, giving the media a chance to talk of 'rampaging hooligans'

Hypocrisy? What hypocrisy???

01.11.2003 22:00

I just find it bizarre that people don't know how to protest any more. Fact is that governments don't listen unless if you threaten to use violence against them. Remember the fuel strikes of a couple of years back? The British government didn't listen to us until we forced the issue.

Fact is that, to stop violence and bring about peace, we must threaten to use whatever we can against the idiots of Bush and Blair - violence is the only language they fully understand. Only, we the people hold power. If we go on sissy marches and don't follow it up with real action then we deserve to see the consequences of our ineffectiveness.

Bush and Blair are both murderers and they must be held accountable. We must show these people at the top that should they continue their disgraceful behaviour we will come after them. Only this threat will stop them and frighten them from doing anything!!!

Violence must and should be used against them. And, it can be done in different and unique ways. If necessary, why not drive a car full speed at the police barriers? That'll not only grab the news and media attention but will bring fear among people at the top.

We can't be seen to be sissy little panzy assed complaining butt munchers!!!

Cilvil Unrest is the way forward

01.11.2003 23:07

I agree DD, a certain amount of civil unrest might just put the wind up Bliar while his one and only mate is in the country being humilated.

I'm not advocating a full scale riot, but lets not just march from A to B like sheep again, lets do something more positive like blockade The Mall or Whitehall or something equally distruptive.

Chris Eubank Style Protest.

02.11.2003 03:17

Dear Stuey and friends,

I'm glad you agree with me. This country really needs to put the wind up blair and co. They never listen to us.

Funny, do you remember when the hereditaries all got sacked back in 1999? Blair's reason to the peers for them not being allowed to reject his policy was that he was voted in by the people and it is their will for the Lords to get kicked out.

A quick point I make to that above para: Blair uses us, the people to help is argument. Then why does he ignore us now?

I wonder why he keeps delaying this hunting bill??? Does he fear civil unrest from those lot in the country. Only a few hours back the country lot signed a petition saying that they'll break any banning laws and thus making them criminals and they'll be happy for it. We must find strength in this and break any laws ie the threatening of a foreign head of state to get our message across. I'm not asking for all out violence. However, I think continuous and group attacks against the silly leaders will be most effective.

Finally, I'll be attending the Chris Eubank style protest in centre of London. Hopefully if we all join in the Mall, Whitehall and Parliament areas will be jammed packed full of non moving cars. They ask us to horn loudly and even saw a message from this guy asking people to use loudspeakers (sorry, they're not loudspeakers but mouthpiece speaking things... sorry it's late and I'm slllleeeepppyy). Anyhow, I say go on that car protest and horn as loud and proud as you like. We must tell others too!! The more the merrier.
