Meme warfare through entertainment

OoT8 | 17.11.2003 06:24 | Globalisation | Social Struggles

Resistance begins in the mind...

Meme warfare through entertainment.
When is a game no longer a game? When it takes the player into the realms of sociopolitical revolution… enter Dystopia. A game that introduces players to the realities of corporate sovereignty without scaring them away with pepper spray. Dystopia is a game of revolution from Order of The Eight Press wherein you play the dregs (real people) of society working to topple the corporate empire… or die trying.

Advertisments...

17.11.2003 11:28

Now, I appreciate that it is not easy to bypass mainstream production
routes for games and such. I appreciate that alternative games (if so it
is, I ain't paying to find out) need to advertise on alternative
websites.

BUT I still think IndyMedia really isn't the place for commercial
advertisments. There are other places better suited to that.

Yeah... but it's more than an ad.

I am hoping to generate a response or some opinions about meme warfare. Sorry for the blatent self promotion.
It is an indi game... and ya' ain't got ta' buy it... I am open for trade.
But I would like to ask you this... How DO you get around the mainstream?
thanks.

no, its a game

I don't wnt to appear churlish,

but what we are all trying to do is NOT a F**KING GAME...

MEMETIC / pychological / cyber/ physical warfare is all too real and what we are all involved in a real war

a war for our very humanity...

why insult people who are involved in this very real struggle with what appears to be
a focus group...

get involved

Not a focus group...

18.11.2003 00:46

I understand your mild anomosity Captain but let me assure you that I AM involved. I have been for a long, long time. From doing anti-recruitment work here in the States to taking to the street... I have been pepper-sprayed more times than I can count... I was in London for the May 1st protests last year, man I love Soho. I wish that I could be there this time standing with you guys. Bush was in my town this summer (Portland OR) and a couple of years ago and believe me, I was in the streets.
But I think that there is more work to be done than just screaming your rage at riot cops (that is an important tactic) and we need to find other ways to work together to stop this madness.
I appreciate your comment and I mean no disrespect to anyone who has dedicated their time, energy and soul to the cause. I only wish to increase the tactics at our disposal and convey ideas to people who would normally not think about things like corporate sovereignty or human rights.

If you have any ideas please let me know.
In solidarity,
gch
