C A Press Release

sab | 30.12.2003 10:37 | Animal Liberation | London

Thanks for the Countryside Alliance press realease.

Boxing Day is always the biggest hunt meet of the year, but to use countryside alliance figures is pathetic. All around the country less bods are hunting and hunts are closing or merging with other hunts, so even without a ban its on its way out.
What needs to happen is more direct action and more hunts sabs in the field, shut the fuckers down.

Hunting is increasing in numbers

30.12.2003 13:21

I'm sorry you don't like to read facts that fail to support your theorys but the reality is the amount of people hunting is growing and the amount of people sabbing is falling. You may not like this reality but it is the truth.

Hunting fullfils a vital service in the countryside and I'm afraid the old "Toffs on horseback" perception was out of date twenty years ago. Me, my wife and all our friends who hunt are overwhelmingly working class. Perhaps having been bought up in the country we have had the benefit of seeiing the facts unlike some who object. Spend the time finding out the TRUE facts about hunting and you will change your mind.

Best wishes

Dave

Further information from the Countryside Alliance illustrating the views of the British People on the Hunting Question.

98% say hunting should not be the Government's priority

A new NOP poll commissioned by the Countryside Alliance has found that 98% of the public think that there are more important issues for the Government to tackle than hunting.

The poll, conducted last weekend, asked: "Which of the following do you consider to be the most important for the Government to tackle?

The NHS 46%
Asylum Seekers 20%
International Terrorism 20%
Universities 9%
Hunting 2%

Dave, you are just blinded by the figures presented by one side, yours. The countryside alliance only releases figures that support their views. They are not going to say 'figures have dropped again' are they? Instead they are going to look at the figures and play with them until they can say such things as 'more young people are turning out to the meets'. This could mean one of many things, if they are basing it on statistics, they could be saying that the percentage of people turning up who are young is increasing. etc...

Whoever says that hunting is a nessecity is wrong. What justification can you give to searching out and tearing a fox appart. Have you not heard of humane traps? Also, fox's are not a danger to farmers. How can a fox bring down a strong lamb? If the lamb is ill in the first place it might have a chance. But the farmer should have looked after the animal anyway.

In the end, it all boils down to one thing; you enjoy seeing animals tortured. If you didn't then you would have found a more efficient way of dealing with 'pests'.

The solution to the problem: farm crops not animals.
