Peer to peer sharing of political information
Indypeer | 16.04.2004 01:36 | Anti-militarism | Globalisation | Technology
We found that especially with the closure of Sharereactor and jigle, it is not really easy to find political, news and informative stuff anymore. Thus, we built a little Web interface and database to collect some stuff we've come across and to enable people add more they know of.
We invite you to try it out at http://www.indypeer.org.
If anyone takes exception to the name Indypeer, we can change that too. But we hope it's OK since we're not doing it for big buck$$$, but for the community. Consider it the index to a global data storage.

I wouldn't say that I am a newbie (I have been using computers - mainly Macs - since about 1982) but to be faced with a list of incompprehensible possible non-platform specific downloads and then find a folder of bewildering files on my desktop with no documentation, I decided to go no further with this.
There are plenty of user friendly P2P applications - why this one? If I can't be bothered to spend hours tweeking my system how many people with less experience are going to?
Like I said, great idea...but...
