Antifa

25.04.2004 22:47

New organisation launched:

'Antifa' is a collective of militant anti-fascists committed to opposing the rise of the far-right in Britain and abroad. We believe in the 'no platform' philosophy and the tradition of fighting fascism/racism stretching back to Cable Street, Red Lion Square, Lewisham, and Waterloo.

We are a network of various organisations and individuals who see anti-fascism as part of the class struggle. After decades of underperforming, the far-right now poses a significant threat politically.

This initiative aims to bring together those who wish to act rather than talk. We aim to oppose the far-right's electoral politics and where possible by means of direct action. As well as street activities we aim to promote militant anti-fascism in the football and music areas. This website will serve as an information and activity site, we will post up any intelligence on far-right activities and invite anti-fascist to join us in counter activities.

Some of the groups supporting the 'Antifa' initiative are Anarchist Federation, Class War Federation, No Platform, and the Solidarity Federation. Although we come from the anarchist tradition we are open to work with any group/individual that is serious about militant anti-fascism, but we will NOT work with any state affiliated groups. If you are interested in getting involved then please contact us.

Why?

26.04.2004 07:23

Why oppose the BNP? They are just another political party exercising their deomocratic rights. If the BNP are so bad like you say they are then why worry because hardly anyone will vote for them. If they are doing well in elections though, then they are only reflecting the opinions of the British electorate and so stopping the BNP wont change the opinions of the electorate.

3 reasons why

26.04.2004 09:46

"If the BNP are so bad like you say they are then why worry because hardly anyone will vote for them."

Hitler, Mussolini, George Bush

"If they are doing well in elections though, then they are only reflecting the opinions of the British electorate and so stopping the BNP wont change the opinions of the electorate."

The BNP are not formed out of the opinions of the British electorate. They are a small minority of people that use propaganda and lies to to get people to vote for them.

If there is no BNP then they won't get any votes. If their lies are exposed (like claims that they're not racist) then they will also get less votes.

'Democrat' is a fash - don't bother replying

'Democrat' is using the same words the fash use to try and stir shit in these discussions - don't rise to their bate (they probably just cut and paste their comments!)

what?

26.04.2004 11:28

what's the difference between 'Antifa' and 'No Platform'?

You sound like they do, though I guess you're saying you come from a class-war anarchist base (like AFA ended up being from a front dare I say for Red, oh, what where they called, Red something).

Little Brittain

I strongly protest that the bnp should be allowed to stand in elections representing mine (and anyone else's narrow-minded views).

After all, successive governments of this once proud nation have persistently denied a decent education to generations of working men. Little wonder so many of us believe St George, Patron of England, to be a true Brit (when he was in fact a Palestinian black man born in the slums of Turkey!).

And, like potentially millions of Brits, I feel moved by a collective sense of national pride at the thought of being one of Nick Griffin's bitches!
