Families 4 Hunting surprise John Prescott in Yorkshire

Twenty representatives of Families 4 Hunting ambushed John Prescott as he visited a Flower Show in Yorkshire last Thursday.

Representatives from several local packs and coursing clubs attended the demonstration which was organised by Julie Nelson from the Hunsley Beacon Beagles. The group surprised the Deputy Prime Minister as he left the event when, surrounded by journalists, they threw off their coats to reveal pink F4H t-shirts and 59% posters!

The ambush was greeted with lots of media interest and it provided an excellent opportunity for spokespeople to ridicule the local MPs who had signed the Early Day Motion. Interviews were conducted with three local radio stations and four local papers. Congratulations to all involved!

Nice that the Cuntryside Alliance are reaching out to the un-converted. Doubt it's gonna win you many friends on Indymedia though.

When you order a reprint of your 59% posters, maybe you could put a 'source' credit at the bottom. As it stands, the statistic could have come from a Dog 'n' Donkey magazine readers poll for all we know.

ps. Dog 'n' Donkey = Horse & Hound magazine. The periodical of choice for hunt protesters who want to be up to date about meets.

The standard Countryside Alliance technique to polls is to take any failure to respond or "dont know" responses as (falsely) being pro-hunting. For example, their vets for hunting project fell through when they actually listed anti-hunt vets as being pro-hunting on the grounds that they didnt respond to CA's questionaire, so must be pro-hunting!!

This and loaded questions is how they managed to get their figure of 59%.

So come on hooray henry, give us the actual questions, percentages and other details for this figure. Or are you afraid the truth will out?

Thats exactly the problem mate. Anyone with a WHOLE brain realises that it's a perverse bloodlust ritual that has no place in contemporary society.

I have yet to hear anyone explain how drag-hunting wouldn't protect 'the rural economy' (which anyway hardly relies on hunting) from collapse if hunting were banned. Of course you don't get to kill anything then though!

You seem to have missed answering 'FtP's' question Henry. Are you going to answer it?

And Henry you seem to have missed the point. There are other jobs available for the Hunting Folk (otherwise know as Scum). Don't just say i don't have a grasp of economics etc... As i do. The point is that animals are brutally murdered by packs of dogs for the entertainment of their human owners. We as a species have no right to commit such terrible acts and must stop. So people won't get quite so much money from doing other jobs, oh well. It doesn't take that much money to get by. We don't really need that much stuff, but then again i'm not going to get through to you am I Henry? (That is if you are upper class which i suspect you are).

Really? It seems to me you're just avoiding coming back on my point that it would provide a substitute pastime and income without the killing - except its the killing which attracts the punters isn't it?

Not that economics is a reason to kill anyhow. Sure, rural economies are getting screwed by corporate out-of-town stores etc... er, lets set a pack of dogs on a fox, that'll make up for the local post office closing!

I grew up in the countryside and hunting is a very much a minority interest, and a sadistic and unjustifiable one at that.

So why isn't drag hunting etc an economic alternative for fox hunting? Enlighten me, please.
