As the first president in the world to yield to a popular evaluation in the middle of his term, Hugo Chávez Frías has triumphed, receiving the vast and unquestionable support of the Venezuelan people. Exceptional organization, and the social force of the neighbourhoods and towns, as well as the integral development of their inhabitants - ignored for more than 4 decades - has allowed for the ratification of the Bolivarian process with more than 60% of the votes of the more than 14 million Venezuelans that waited for more than 12 hours in long lines to make their free decision, of whether or not the presidency of Chavez would continue.
A long road remains in the radicalization of the process in favor of the dispossessed who decided to ratify their confidence in the proposals for social change, the conquering of democratic spaces and cooperatives for the workers, and above all keeping a tight rein on the aggressive challenges imposed by the economic power that strangles Our America.
