Urgent Anti McDonalds Call out!

SmAsh McD's | 17.08.2004 19:12 | Animal Liberation | Free Spaces | Globalisation | London

Last Thursday police used Section 30 of the new Anti Social Behaviour Act to disperse McDonalds demonstrators. This was an arbitrary use of their power and an infringement on our basic right of freedom of speech and assembly.

Urgent Anti McDonalds Call out!

Meet at Leicester Square McDonalds
Thursday 19th August
5.30 till 7.30

The Police must not be allowed to stifle legitimate protest! Please come in solidarity to defend the right of peaceful protest and show McDonalds we will not give in to Police intimidation.

Why do you always protest McDonalds (not that I'm saying you shouldn't) but why not Burger King, Pizza Hut, KFC ?

One at a time.

Nobody has the energy and resources to take on all fast food giants at once. So most of the focus is directed at the number one, McDonalds. McDonalds also managed to make the campaign up against them much bigger than it had been, by employing their standard tactic of suing.
The campaigners stood up to the bullies, McDonalds lost a fortune, and guaranteed a steady stream of bad PR for years to come.

I'm pleased to say that it appears to be working: McDonalds is having a bad time of it lately, closed 250 restaurants worldwide last year. When they go down, we turn to the next one. And so on.

And there have been campaigns going on against KFC and Burger King:

I think the main problem with McDonalds is that they make really shit food. It tastes vile. I've not eaten in McDonalds for two years. It's not an ethical issue (though that doesn't help) mainly that it's such dirty crap. Maccy D's are digging their own grave. :D

'I think the main problem with McDonalds is' ... that they murder millions of sentient beings horrifically every year in disgusting factory farms, then shove bits of their charred corpses between pieces of bread, the sick f*cks.

"I hate McDonalds because of what they do to sentient beings."

So STUFF YOU Hamish and your personal food standards issues. This is about THE ANIMALS not your pathetic uncompassionate pallette SUCKER.
