U2 frontman Bono will take centre stage at the Labour Party conference....

When he's not hobnobbing with murderous bastards like Wolfensohn or behind stupid 'baD science'projects like Future Forests, or gabbing in the liberal media, or just pocketing large ammounts of money, today Bono will be talking to the Labour Party Conference.

Just fuck off and die. Liberal solutions are no solutions. These actions just play into the neoliberal PR machine - "Repressive Tolerance" ring a bell to you left wingers????

Fat corrupt union leaders. Reclaim your unions from the labour business machine. Reclaim them from your bosses.

Marching for peace with the Met and the Labour Party warmongerers.

Pretend the BBC is anti war.

pretend the LibDems are an alternative.

Pretend you really care.

Locking up the poor 'over here' - Blowing them up 'over there'.

Shop. Consume. Don't take to the streets. Get a job withg a charity, get a nice house, nice car and salve your conscience. Go to conferences. Salve your conscience.

Co-opted by the authoritarians.

This is a global CLASS WAR.

A crappy egotistic pop star ( nor a concertt in Trafalgar Sqaure ) will help you or the planet.

NGOs and the Greenwash eg. GEF

30.09.2004 11:10

Perhaps, Bono's speech was to bring a ( crocodile ) tear to Blair's eyes - the thing is these debt's are well known and are a product of the neoliberalist 'third way' that Blair espouses. With the G8 countries support of 'poverty reduction/structuralit adjustment' led by the World Bank /IMF and their corporate associates, like Climate Change, genuine poverty and health measures will be drowned in a sea of PR and the usual 'too little-too late' attitude manouvres that keep the non-overdeveloped world as a sweatshop and testing lab for Coirporate Earth.
'
When they talk that it would cost us £2.86 a year for the next ten years to drop the 'UK's ''bill' they are sideling the fact that it is sevberal hundred years of colonialism, whether through royalty, state, or Corporations ( and always through the laws/orders of the rich ) and it would be just ( ethical ) to pair compensation for the destruction realed by the arms trade, AIDS ( still very suspect ), land theft, pollution, murder by the oil barons, the Thatchers, The Windsors etc.

This is compounded by the overfed NGO's who act as a buffer of represive tolerance to continue the lie that we live in a democracy and have freedom of speech.

here's an example of the 'Lab of Corporate Africa' disguised as aid:-

The booklet is entitled 'TGEF...Dynamic Partnerships.Real Solutions' and is by the Global Environment Facility.

"With GEF's support, Ethopia has initated an innovative project that brings together farmers and genetic research intstitutions to conserve indigenous crops in dynamic agro-systems."

The GEF works with UNESCO the World Bank and with over 700 NGO's - Now you might get the picture of what is happening and who's pocket are being lined. This is happening in SE ASia, Latin America, Africa, etc.

There are small greenwash projects to disguise the true nature of the business. For every little wind farm there are thousands of other projects that are destorying cultures and the environment.

With regard to these 'environmental projects' etc. the real drive is RESOURCE EXTRACTION.
Further on in the booklet there is a wonderful picture of Brazillian landscape replete with waterfalls ( very psychological marketing tactic - using pictures of nature, the colour green etc. ).

Next to this is the caption "Brazil is famous for its natural beauty and resources". On the one hand we nmay think water-power. Then we have to ask what who's power whom. then we can look through their double-speak to the notion of 'resources'. That may then lead us to the market and any hot spot of war and deprivation - again featuring markets such as diamonds ( Sierra Leone and Sudan ) and the arms trade.

OK. I have had to rush through this -0 but my point is that it IS a class war and it is on a global scale - when the G8 comes to Scotland in 2005, remember the big NGO's and what a waste of fucking space MOST of them are. Credibility from a millionaire pop singer. Fuck off.
