London's 9-11

Og | 07.07.2005 10:57 | Repression | London

Like September 11th, this reeks of an inside job, right after Bush and Blair appeared before the media making trivial small talk and jokes. I'm afraid it's all so predictable.

As I predicted some time ago, if the Establishment conducted a "terrorist" outrage in Britain, the target would be London Underground. Sadly, today on the seventh day of the seventh month, I am in a position to say. "I told you so!"

At 8.49 am., news broke of exposions caused by a 'power surge' affecting several underground stations. It became clear this was a major incident with many walking wounded and the entire tube network was shut down. The National Grid deny there was a power surge.

Chaos ensued with a lack of co-ordination amongst emergency services and sparse information. Eyewitness reports from Liverpool St., Aldgate, Edgeware Road and Euston Stations all described "a flash and a bang" inconsistent with electrical failure.

However, at around 10.20 there were reports of a double decker tourist bus exploding in Tavistock Square. The top blew straight off and there are fatalities. Another two buses are rumoured to have experienced blasts and a bomb went off in the Liverpool Street area.

It was an hour before the word "attack" was uttered, but this series of explosions were evidently carefully timed and structured to cause maximum destruction during the rush hour. All this on the day the G8 summit officially opens in the UK.

It also comes the day after London's successful bid to host the 2012 Olympic games. The Olympics in London will demand a security crackdown, but in the light of this event, (our 9-11) retina scans and biometric I.D.'s will be made compulsory.

As of 10.30am, there has been no response from the Prime Minister at Gleneagles and 'al Qaeda' has not been mentioned... yet. I am videotaping the news bulletins, because if Canary Wharf blows, I want it recorded!

If this cleverly co-ordinated and executed attack is claimed to be the work of UK-based Muslim extremists, it beggars the question; why have they been wasting time messing about with ricin? I'll leave you to answer that question, but my money is on MI5... every time

Who was it then?

07.07.2005 11:05

My car engine blew whilst sitting for a while on a blocked motorway yesterday due to protesting.

Was it MI5, FBI, Bush, Blair or even CI5 who caused the engine to blow?! I'll leave the sane people to decide!

Grow up

07.07.2005 11:16

You have absolutely no evidence for your assertions so I think many people would be grateful if you could keep your offensive speculation to yourself.

I'm still waiting for news about friends and relatives. We know that many people have been killed and injured. I'd wait for some evidence before you start pointing the finger anywhere, whether it's the "Establishment" or not. Oh, and grow up, really quickly. The world needs people with half a clue.

Such a perfect democracy...

07.07.2005 11:17

“Such a perfect democracy constructs its own inconceivable foe, terrorism. Its wish is to be judged by its enemies rather than by its results. The story of terrorism is written by the state and it is therefore highly instructive. The spectators must certainly never know everything about terrorism, but they must always know enough to convince them that, compared with terrorism, everything else must be acceptable, or in any case more rational and democratic.” Comments on the Society of the Spectacle Guy Debord, 1988

OK, this is starting to annoy me now...

07.07.2005 11:17

I hate to have to break this to you, but there is not some huge overarching conspiracy by MI5, the CIA et al to kill off their own citizens just so that they can enact draconian anti-terror laws. You people need to grow up, or seek professional help.

The sad fact of this is that today's attack, the attack in Madrid and 9/11 are the legacy of our foreign poicy in the Middle East. Add to that the religious aspect - people who think that they have God on their side are always bad news, regardless of their religious alignment - and you have a forgone conclusion I'm afraid.

Canary Wharf

07.07.2005 11:17

If Canary Wharf blows, someone very close to me dies.

I hope you remember to set your video and enjoy the spectacle.

think about the people injured... not just the politics

07.07.2005 11:21

"if Canary Wharf blows, I want it recorded!"... that is sick.

Before people start ranting on saying "now the G8 leaders can have an excuse not to talk about climate change" etc I think you need to have a think about what matters here... people have been injured / killed

Israel Was Warned Ahead of First Blast (but not Londoners)

Report: Israel Was Warned Ahead of First Blast
13:30 Jul 07, '05 / 30 Sivan 5765

(IsraelNN.com) Army Radio quoting unconfirmed reliable sources reported a short time ago that Scotland Yard had intelligence warnings of the attacks a short time before they occurred.

The Israeli Embassy in London was notified in advance, resulting in Finance Minister Binyamin Netanyahu remaining in his hotel room rather than make his way to the hotel adjacent to the site of the first explosion, a Liverpool Street train station, where he was to address and economic summit.

At present, train and bus service in London have been suspended following the series of attacks. No terrorist organization has claimed responsibility at this time.

Israeli officials stress the advanced Scotland Yard warning does not in any way indicate Israel was the target in the series of apparent terror attacks.

---------------------------------

I should add there's a big Israeli Economic Conference at a Liverpool St Hotel today - now cancelled, but the 250 guests included Benjamin 'Bibi' Netenyahu (sp?) and the Israeli ambassador.

[opinion] So why were no warnings given in London? So we all go to work anyway - our leaders consider losses among us an acceptable price to keep business going, we've seen it before many times.... the IRA used to give warnings, the Yard would clain they were too late to be useful. I never believed them, you're probably obliged to....

well

07.07.2005 11:33

Sorry but I've read a number of posts regarding the bombs in London. And I am surprised at the response. First of all jumping to conclusions seems misjudged and thoughtless. Many people are dead and injured. To claim that somehow the 'establshment' is involved is a naive assumption if not irresponsible. The world is a complex place and can not be reduced to making rash off the cuff responses.

Sadly much of the stuff sent to this website seems have a slightly arrogant aristocratic tone. which doesn't reach out more than to other cult members who share a fuzzy discourse.

Sharpening a critique requires more rigour than repeating empty accusations.

Get prepared for the crack down

07.07.2005 11:37

What a great timing for the G8 now to discuss international security instead of the growing presure over the negative impacts of globalisation . It appears everytime the globalisation movement makes the headlines, a terrorist attack occurs. It's almost predictable now. Get prepared for a crack down on British civil liberties and more war mongering from Tony Blair. Australia and Japan are next on the target list.

Illuminating

07.07.2005 11:50

My word, how we are indebted to your incredible foresight and what significance do we attach to the "7th" day of the "7th month" as you infer there is some rationale behind this.

The fact remains that we shall continue to be at the mercy of terrorists. As long as they display a wanton disregard for innocent life, we can never second guess their movements. Of course the tube is a legitimate target but are you telling me there aren't a thousand others in London???

This is a stupid response to the bombs. Conspiracy theories are for simplistic idiots. The world is more complicated than that.

information not speculation

07.07.2005 11:57

Why not wait to accumulate some information before dashing off speculation? Do you really think you know enough at the moment to have an informed view on what this is about?

Personally I suspect the French are behind this somewhere.

A plea for some level headed thinking in this madness

07.07.2005 11:57

You are seeing things very much in black and white my friend - I'm the first person to discount anything that passes between the lips of ant govt minister but I highly doubt MI5 was involved. Also don't glorify in blood as it could be you or your relatives next.

I just want to say how sad this whole thing is, I'm also extremely angry as I guess we all are - both at the terrorists and at our stinking government for playing a substantial part in the cause of all this.

The sooner people open their eyes the sooner we might be able to realise that the best people to look after our interests are us, the people and not the nice suited gentlemen in the houses of parliament. At least people should realise that they are not there for us - they are there for their own self-interest which is difficult at first to accept but none the less true.

what a wonderful world

07.07.2005 12:07

Who was responsible is largely irrelevent, as they will not be stopped by force, or uncovered in any case. Small autonomous cells can not be stopped by government agencies. Likewise government agencies are unlikely to ever be caught or held responsible for something like this, even if they did do it.

To assume it is the work of the 'security' services before we have any real knowledge about the events is quite naive. Though all the people who unquestioningly accept the establishment view and condem all other views as 'unsympathetic' or 'deluded' are equally as jaded and ignorant. Please don't trust the media or the self proclaimed leaders to give you the picture of events! ----Research!---

The most important thing we can do in all this is to ensure that it isn't used by the governing institutions to manipulate us into not resisting even more legislation that further oppresses us. Security is the opposite of freedom.

Without wanting to dignify the notion that increased 'security' really does lower the risk of terrorism, I'd rather live in a freer society with an incresed risk of injury, than leave my children to grow up in some sort of psudo-orwellian utopia..

And to bring it all into contex, look at the news from Iraq and Afganistan lately... this is what they have to put up with almost daily..

Blair; what the Fuc£ did you expect would happen when you send people around the world to kill others!!?!?

Terrorists; you have proven yourselves to be no better than the violent thugs killing your neigbours in the name of 'Operation Iraqi Freedom'

"The terrorists who will not accept peace fighting the Horrorists who will enforce it at any cost"

Imagine a society where we didn't need to put up with this $hit.

conspiracy theorys like this make light of the fact that we are at war

07.07.2005 12:08

Nice theory, but should you not be at least considering the fact that British forces are daily killing people in Arab countries. It is a little insensitive to discard the whole Iraq / Palestine thing as a sideline to the "real" issue of ID cards and retina scans. More time protesting against wars and less time worrying about how in some miniscule way this might affect your daily life, please.

Spin rubbish

07.07.2005 12:14

The immediate spin of Blair should not have been unexpected.

Using the words "terrorist" and "G8" clearly works to keep the focus London and the Olympics. The papers tomorrow will not talk about Olympics, but G8.

While we all give our attention to London, Iraqis and many others across the world continue to live without instant medical support, triage or doctors while the bombing of "insurgents" continues.

We all breathe air and are all humans, and the real "terrorists" are not the ones who will be upheld in the days ahead.

At 1.09pm UK time today,Blair spoke using words like barbaric, terms such as suffered from the impact of terrorism, united in our resolve to confront and defeat this terrorism, not an attack on one nation but all nations everywhere is utter rubbish.

Blair's spin on G8 to put it in the spotlight is barbaric.

The only ones who I find making a link between the Olympics and the blasts are the people.

Report: Israel Was Warned Ahead of First Blast
13:30 Jul 07, '05 / 30 Sivan 5765

[note the TIME of the report filing! A good few hours after the attacks]

[It doesn't state that any nature of the attacks expected, any timings or MO. In short, it would be what you would expect SY to do if they had just received a vague alert. In other words, it doesn't mean that they had any specific information that would be meaningful. It also could mean that terrorists deliberately manipulated the intelligence community with a fake specific target as a diversionary tactic]

At present, train and bus service in London have been suspended following the series of attacks. No terrorist organization has claimed responsibility at this time.

Israeli officials stress the advanced Scotland Yard warning does not in any way indicate Israel was the target in the series of apparent terror attacks.

A couple of observations.

Bush, Putin AND an Israeli conference visiting UK at the same time, and chaos ensues..

Blair is a worse actor than j-lo.

A request.

Will all the 'shut-up' shouting facists please piss off and stop pretending to support the concept of free speech by visiting this site. It used to be quite good.

Gain

07.07.2005 12:57

The question is, who has most to gain by the blasts?

The eight tyrants gathered at Gleneagles, of course.
Teflon Tony had problems getting his "Big Brother scheme through the Commons.
This will now be an easy task.
No one of the sychopants will dare oppose it.
Fear is the key. Keep the population in a grip of fear, and they are too scared to think and act, an ddo anything, except join the fold of eager servants.
Acting in anger towards those telling the truth.
It's becoming increasingly clear that the 9/11 attacks in New York and Washington was the work of the US government. Since then they, in tandem with Teflon Tony and other servants to implement their Orwellian sceme.
Which was/is the entire point.

Th plot erm thickens...

07.07.2005 16:10

For a so-called conspiracy expert, it would seem the poster has made some hilarious errors. We are being told that we are sheep that believe everything the media tells us however, they cite a well-known fake story gone wrong as a basis of proof that Al Qaeda weren't behind the bombs. Well just a search on ricin on this site would have saved embarrassment:

 http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/04/27/guardian_pulls_ricin_piece/

Okay, I'll allow people the excuse of not being aware of a D-noticed story, even if it was reported on this very site, but did it escape this shrewd poster's notice that if Bourgas hadn't killed the police officer the most serious charge he was facing was "conspiracy to cause a public nuisance"?

Man, we used to have a better quality of nutcase on this site tsk!

I would ask the poster to familiarise himself with the edicts of Bin Laden before dismissing the existence of Islamist Terrorism, they may give you a greater insight into what exactly they are trying to achieve. I would advise not to pay a blind bit of notice of what most media outlats interpret Al Qaeda to be... primarily because their objectives and grudges are a great embarressment to the West. Primary data is always the best source of intelligence. How often do you here the word Palestine mentioned when Al Qaeda make an attack?
