19:00At 17 hrs, a man and a woman climbed on the bridge over Leith Street, connecting the St. James Shopping Centre close to Waverly Station, to the car park on the opposite side of the street. They hung up a banner saying "Coming soon to city near your: Millions of ecological refuges" in order not to let the climate action day go unnoticed. They were told by the police not to come down themselves, because they didn't have climbing gear, and it would have been to unsafe for them. At 19:00 they were taken down by the police in a sherry picker and detained. The two were supported by some 50 other people, including several lock-ons. The police has taken the banner as evidence.
