'Their war, our dead',

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Friday 6pm London vigil, 'London, Fallujah, no more bombs'.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi all, a vigil has been called against *all* terrorism with the slogan
'London, Fallujah, No More Bombs'. It's to be held at 6pm in Altabali Park
in East London, and will have the support of the local community.

In addition, at a snap meeting in London yesterday some of us agreed to push
forward with the slogan 'Their war, our dead', which was the one raised in
Spain that had the effect of turning the anger against the terrorist leaders
of both 'sides'. We'll want to see posters, stickers (t-shirts?) and banners
and placards with this slogan on. Right now the idea is to network the
slogan, rather than to make it the basis of any group -- it could be linked
back to an open publishing website where the diverse groups and individuals
who feel an affinity to the slogan could express what they see it as
meaning.

One thing we need to do is to design the slogan into a logo. Is anyone up
for doing that? In order to propagate it, sympathetic websites could display
it on their front page. Are any of you willing, in principle, to do this?

Please pass this message along your networks as far as possible.

Many thanks

FWD

Why not hold it in Trafalgar Square

Why not hold the Fallujah vigil in Trafagar Square where the main vigil is being held? We need to get the message across to ordinary people about the link between the London bombings and bombings and atrocities carried out by the allies in Iraq and Afghanistan! Most people still refuse to believe there is a link between the Afghan and Iraq wars and the London bombings.

What link ?

14.07.2005 10:03

What link ? Nobody has suggested a link between events in Afghaninstan and Iraq. Even the organisation that claimed responsibility never mentioned it. These bombs are part of a campaign to establish a global Islamic theocracy (fat chance !). The sooner the European liberal Left come to terms with these people the sooner we can defeat them. Their agenda is an Islamic world - is that what you want ?

Hmmmm

"What link ? Nobody has suggested a link between events in Afghaninstan and Iraq. Even the organisation that claimed responsibility never mentioned it."

So, what does this mean?

“Rejoice, Islamic nation. Rejoice, Arab world. The time has come for vengeance against the Zionist crusader government of Britain in response to the massacres Britain committed in Iraq and Afghanistan"

“We warned the British government and the British people repeatedly. We have carried out our promise and carried out a military attack in Britain after great efforts by the heroic mujahedeen over a long period to ensure its success.”

“We continue to warn the governments of Denmark and Italy and all crusader governments that they will receive the same punishment if they do not withdraw their troops from Iraq and Afghanistan,”

Why are you denying something that can so easily be proven?

If your claim is that the suicide bombings are irrational attacks that will happen regardless of events in the real world, then you have a major problem. You cannot defeat irrationality.

If you address the issues that draw young people towards the extremists, you can win by undermining their support. If you just start attacking muslims willy-nilly (such as fellow adherents to your "irrational" approach have already done) you will create a groundswell of support for the extremists.

Your approach is the one which is irrational and based on lies. Down your road lies more death and destruction.

Mistaken

Dear ftp

You have chosen to make reference to only one of the groups that claim responsability for the London attacks. You can try and claim these attacks were in some way "revenge" for the actions in Afghanistan and Iraq but the reality is different.
If it helps you to confirm your views and prejudices by believing this then OK I won't bother debating with you however for those of looking at a bigger and more frightining picture the world is not so simple.

When it is you facing the full horror of an nemy who regards your views as a weakness it will, I;m sure be very different for you.

Patent nonsense

"Nobody has suggested a link between events in Afghaninstan and Iraq" KL

"You have chosen to make reference to only one of the groups that claim responsability for the London attacks" KL

So, are you going to provide the ones which ignore Iraq and Afghanistan, and says that the attacks were part of an irrational plan to dominate the world?

"You can try and claim these attacks were in some way "revenge" for the actions in Afghanistan and Iraq but the reality is different."

Nah - I've already backed it up with the claims that the media tells us came from the bombers. I don't want a debate with you - but I do think you should back up your claims with something that resembles a source.

"When it is you facing the full horror of an nemy who regards your views as a weakness it will, I;m sure be very different for you."

I've no idea who this enemy is, or when I'll be facing the full horror of them, but as a London resident, I'm probably at the same risk as everybody else.

Your line is ill thought out, lacks evidence and leaves me cold.

In fact, you're something of a conspiracy theorist really, no?

ftp

What a shame

14.07.2005 16:12

I see you are not a person who likes to face the truth. Never mind, while indulge in intellectual masterbation others will have to deal with the threat that faces us. If you can't recognise the enemy I feel sorry for you, if you can recognise it but would rather didn't because it doesn't fit in with your view I pity you.

As a final comment do you think it acceptable to be both a poster to Indymedia and one of the moderators which allows you to edit posts to try and make your view look more credible. I do not.
