Israeli settlers kill Palestinian child

Boycott Israeli Goods | 20.07.2005 21:47 | Repression

NABLUS, West Bank, July 20 (Reuters) - Jewish settlers stabbed a Palestinian boy to death in the Israeli-occupied West Bank on Wednesday, witnesses said.

They said the 12-year-old was ambushed by several settlers near his home at Qaryot village outside the Palestinian-ruled city of Nablus. He was stabbed 11 times, medics said. Palestinians who seek statehood in the West Bank and Gaza Strip have complained of frequent harrassment and attacks by settlers during 4-1/2 years of fighting.

It seems that Jewish extremists are as big a bunch of scum as Muslim ones.

Except this murder won't make the front page.

But if a gang of Palestinians knifed a Jewish boy 11 times .....?

Palestinian boy likely stabbed to death in West Bank clan fued

By Arnon Regular, Haaretz Correspondent and The Associated Press

A Palestinian boy was stabbed to death Wednesday in what was likely a brawl between rival clans in the West Bank.

The incident took place in a Palestinian village next to the settlement of Shiloh in the northern West Bank.

Police received a report from Palestinians about the stabbing, and the
youth, Yazan Mohammed Mussa, 12, was taken to a hospital in Nablus, where he died. Doctors said he had been stabbed 11 times.

The circumstances of the killing were not immediately clear and Palestinians initially claimed the boy was stabbed during a violent clash with settlers. The boy's father blamed settlers but said he was unable to identify them for certain.

Later, however, senior Palestinian figures told Israel Defense Forces figures the boy was likely murdered within the context of a clan fued.

A youth who was with Mussa at the time of the incident said the victim was attacked by two bearded strangers.

Although he was sure they were not from their home village of Karir, he fled before hearing what language they spoke and therefore could not positively identify them as Israelis.

Police also told reporters early Thursday that they believed the boy may have been stabbed in a feud between rival families in his village. Police spokesman Shlomi Sagi said officers were investigating.

Palestinian boy killed in clan feud

A 12-year-old Palestinian boy was stabbed to death Wednesday night in the West Bank village of Krayot in an incident apparently connected to an ongoing feud between local Palestinian clans, police confirmed Thursday morning.

Earlier, Palestinian sources had reported that the boy was killed in a brawl that erupted between Palestinian youths and Israeli settlers who had entered the village from the nearby settlement of Shiloh.

However, Palestinian officials soon admitted to IDF officers that the incident was related to an inter-clan dispute.

Palestinian hospital workers identified the dead boy as Yazan Mohammed Mussa, 12, and said he died while being treated for 11 stab wounds.

The incident occurred at around six in the evening, but it took more then three hours before the Palestinians notified Israeli security officials.

Israeli police immediately opened an investigation, and said that the possibility of an inter-Palestinian feud was one of the options being investigated.

A youth who was with Mussa at the time of the incident said the victim was attacked by two strangers.

Although he was sure they were not from their home village of Karir, adjacent to Shiloh, he fled before hearing what language they spoke and therefore could not positively identify them as Israelis.

I wonder how long this post will be allowed to stay up before it is either removed (not hidden) or edited. Can Indymedia tolerate a report which shows how those reporting from Israel / Palestine are routingly writing reports biased against Israel.

it just goes to show .....

Well - the first report was highly inaccurate and insulting - I think an apology is due to the Jewish Scum from the idiot that wrote it.

So, the central claim of the Haaretz article is this:

"Later, however, senior Palestinian figures told Israel Defense Forces figures the boy was likely murdered within the context of a clan fued."

In other words, the source of the claim that it was a clan 'fued' (sic) is the IDF - which is hardly known for disinformation, is it?

No-one could say that the IDF accused the UN of carrying a Qassam in one of its ambulances, accompanied by footage of a stretcher, could they? Neither could it be argued that the IDF claimed that Tom Hurndall was dressed in camoflauge and firing at a watchtower, when he was actually dressed in a high-visibility jacket pulling little kids out the line of fire on a busy residential street that the IDF was arbitrarily firing down, could they?

But, of course, if the IDF says it was Palestinians that stabbed young Yazzan, then it is time to start demanding apologies for the poor, maltreated settlers. And theres no reason to wait for confirmation from the Palestinians that they have indeed arrested a man, is there? Because settlers would NEVER attack Palestinians, would they?

Hmmm, that B'selem link makes a bit of a mockery of that outrage, chaps ...... why are you defending this sort of behaviour?

"Later, however, senior Palestinian figures told IDF...."

Palestinians refuted the claim. They must be telling the truth.
