G8 Debrief cancelled to support the Mass Act of Defiance in Parliament Square
London Rising Tide | 02.08.2005 10:54 | G8 2005 | London
defiance, London Rising Tide will be cancelling the
Post-G8 action debrief BUT will still be showing 'I
HEART HUCKABEES' at 6pm.
7th August - MASS ACT OF DEFIANCE for the Right to
Protest. Assemble 12 noon, Sunday 7 August, Parliament
Square.
This new law will affect *all* activists and campaigners. The law bans demonstrations in the area around Parliament - not just the square, but up to 1 km away from it - as far as the London Eye, Charing Cross and Trafalgar Square. This would prevent protests at some of the most important symbolic locations in London - we cannot allow this right to be taken away!
Everyone should bring their own banners,
leaflets, placards and campaigns - for peace, human
rights, asylum rights, labour rights, animal rights,
social justice, international solidarity, the
environment etc - to this action to defy the new
anti-protest legislation and defend the right to
demonstrate near Parliament.
Called by the Mass Act of Defiance Group.
