After The Fair Is Over

reflections on scumbag pigs

DESi is over; the next time this travesty happens again is two years hence, but my sorrow and anger won’t go away. Many people who read Indy media will already understand the irony of the location which plays host to the worlds largest arms fair, so perhaps this is aimed at the heavy handed police who doubtless also trawl this site, and particularly their more perverted colleagues who cannot resist manhandling those young women protestors in their party dresses (how pathetic these big men really are).

From the BBC websites entry on docklands and the Second World War:-

‘The East End suffered greatly in the bombing of the Second World War. Particularly in 1940, endless bombing raids aimed at the docks, factories and the City steadily obliterated much of this part of London. This engendered in the local population a, by now, mythical spirit of defiance and togetherness which the town planners of the 1950s and 1960s did their best to dissipate and destroy with desolate housing schemes. Many families that were not persuaded to leave for suburban estates after the war have since left of their own accord for the greener fields of Essex.’
This shattered community knew very well the brutality of war, and like millions around the globe today.

Tread gently, you arms dealers, and arrogant yuppies, because you tread on the dust of our dead, and everyday heroes betrayed.

Nice one to the people who could be bothered to protest this insane arms fair. If more caring people show up in 2 years time it will be easy to close that fair. There were many weak points that could be exploited but with so few people and so many copscum it was not possible. What can be done to get more people down there in 2 years time?
If we had a 1000 people last night at the dorchester, those smug cunts would not have been smiling as they were ushered in by their hired goons in yellow jackets. Stop the war coalition or whatever they call themselves can mobilse 1000's fo their a-b marches so where the fuck were they last night?
As the child killing scum came out from their tax payer funded piss up there was a grand total of 30 protesters to tell them to fuck off. Shame on you London!

We could have shut the arms fair too.

We could have shut down the Dsei arms fair too if we had the support of the Stop The War Coalition and people like the SWP and TUC behind us. Even a simple A to B march around the Dsei Excel centre would have caused massive disruption if there had been 20,000 people instead of 150.

Well said activist

I couldn't have said it better. How can they hold an anti war stand without getting out and bloody stopping the scum that manufacture and sell the wherewith all to have wars. I can’t get my head around that one.

Mad as Hell

?? make your minds up!

so after years of 'StW are crap and do it all wrong' and 'if only the SWP would fuck off'

now suddenly you miss them and their organisational skills! awww bless

maybe if you asked nicely they'd explain how they do it

Socialist Worker did support & report DSEI protests

19.09.2005 11:37

In fairness 'Socialist Worker' gave sympathetic coverage of the DSEI protests:
 http://www.socialistworker.co.uk/article.php?article_id=7368

And for the weeks leading up did publicise them.. admittedly not as much as the 24 Sep Stop the War protest but y'know...

(by the way do please support the 24 Sep protest:
