Birmingham Resident had a report about the Birmingham Riot up, but had misplaced the Anarchist Bookfair to Birmingam and put it as a comment to the small disturbance that happened near there in London.

Were both these disturbances the work of agent provocateurs?

Let's just suppose for a minute this is all true, which of course is open to dispute, you need to ask the question 'Whose interests does is serve if black and Asian people in a poor area of Birmingham fight one another instead of fighting the system that keeps both sets down?'

And the answer tells you why this is certainly something that indymedia readers and posters will certainly be interested in.

I tried to post something, basically saying that since "illegal" immigrants can't report a crime through fear of deportation, no one should be surprised if people take matters into their own hands, and the real racists are those who decide which countries people must come from if they want a visa to live in Britain. But my posting isn't anywhere to be found. BTW I was walking along the street just a few hundred yards from where it happened on Saturday night but all I saw was a police car travelling at an abnormally high speed.

because you are an illegal immigrant that means that gangs of black people can target asians and kill one! (although it was a case of mistaken identity and they murdered a poor black fella). The organisers of the demo can hand out leaflets as far away as Dalston (Hackney) urging the boycott of "all asian businesses"! That they can hold placards of such anti-asian racism that the police could tell them that they couldn't hold them.
