Would you also call those who liberated Europe on D-Day from the regime of Adolf Hitler war criminals too. And don't give me that crap about Europe being foreign countries that had been invaded by Germany - as anarchists you people don't believe in nation states or national boundaries so in your world view Iraq under the brutal rule of Saddam Hussein and Europe under the brutal rule of Hitler are the same thing!

No, but invading it for the oil was. Liberating it would have required a second resolution at the UN, for legal cover or for mass popular support for morl cover, but given the bloodbath that was likely to follow and has followed even a legal authorisation wouldn't have bestowed moral authorisation. War is terrorism on a bigger scale. Liberating Iraq could have been achieved by assasination or covert action with far fewer western deaths than has occurred. Liberation is an excuse for an obvious truth. Name ten words associated with the middel east without saying 'Oil'. You can't. Yet you speak of liberation...UK army opinion polls show that the majority of Iraqis don't want us there and see suicide bombers as heros - who is going to liberate Iraq from us ?

Not the soldiers, except for individuals who clearly are more criminal than soldier, just the people who have profited from this bloody debacle like the lying politicians and the arms manufacturers and oil investors. The ringleaders should hang like at Nuremberg in my opinion.

Europe wasn't liberated on D-Day. About five square miles of Europe were liberated by D-Day, except for the thousands of miles Stalin had already 'liberated. If you are asking if anarchists consider the US state in the 1940's to be as guilty of war crimes as the current US state then the answer is yes, most of us do. Something to do with Nagasaki I guess. If you would like an explanation why then please ask. Personally I think some war crimes are more understandable than others. I consider the bombing of Dresden and other German cities to be massive war-crimes, but if I was on a jury then I would not convict any British bomber, simply because the German people had failed in their repsonsibilities to prevent a domestic despot running riot abroad. The Iraqi people do not deserve punishment for Saddams crimes and they didn't deserve 500,000 deaths from sanctions while he prospered. Saddam was in the pay of the CIA for most of his career. He was told by a US ambassador to invade Kuwait. Saddam is a patsy for the real villain. I'd hang Saddam if you let me hang Blair and Bush too.

You have nice prison guards and you have vicious prison guards but they all keep you locked up. To choose a better example I would recommend the 'no-state' solution to Israel and Palestine as I would to any people. We do all belive in nation states and national boundaries, and we only all disagree with the former. We don't all dislike borders but we do all dislike border guards.

You may have a skewed view of what an anarchist is due to our lack of a PR firm. An anarchist is anyone who values other peoples freedom as highly as their own, anyone who is willing to disobey an unjust law. If you broke the speed limit once because you had to then you are an anarchist. If you can accept that then you are as justified as the next person to come along here calling yourself 'Voice of Anarchy' and lecturing the rest of us for not being anarchist enough.

The Nuremberg tribunal at the end of the war you quote cleared Germans who had violently opposed the Nazis and condemned those who 'only followed orders'. The only people who are following international law in the US and the UK are those are resisting their own states oppression. Only anarchists are following the higher law nowadays.
