furious fairies

Problems left too late for solution?

07.11.2005 01:23

Did they invite Speakers from Earth First! or for Greenwar? Is the meeting just political gobbledegook. The last meeting of Greenwar that was advertised was twelve miles out of Swansea, some years ago. Aviation incidents described then are begining to occur. Too damn late!

never too late

Keep Hope.

Fairies should not be made so furious that they use the word for the most delightful of human activities as an obscenity. Another black mark for the Politicians.

Had the Politicians listened to The Global Commons Institute when they started, there might have been a chance, Had they acted properly when Rising Tide started there might have been a hope. Today the consensus seems to be that there is no alternative to Drink and Drugs. It is probably too late for any action to save us all from mass extinction.

The wrecking of the Military-Financial-Industrial Complex immediately just might enable a recovery. As no Politician or Economist has tackled that in any way, the sooner they are all strung up, and a natural society allowed to evolve, the better. - There are many Nations that have caught the disease, some have perished from it, others are still suffering from it, but none can be said to have suffered the infection and recovered from it. - The man was talking about the diease Civilisation!

Note that this meeting is in Swansea where the political vermin, aided by Swansea University, covered up and hid the grim warning to the world left by the Swansea Valley Industrialists

excuse me

I have just read the comments about my posting on the climate change meeting in Swansea on sunday13th November. Whoa fellows!! What a bunch of miserablists! For god sake do not feel obliged to come to the meeting .
Of course everyone is welcome and it is open to all concerned about climate change whether she works for the university which is Swansea's biggest employer or is a car mechanic over in Briton Ferry.Nope, come along because it is only by working together to put pressure on Bush and Blair and all the other so called "masters of the universe "that we can ever hope of winning a better world. Furious fairies can come too but bring wands these are desperate times and they will be needed!

Harsh

08.11.2005 02:10

Wow, thats harsh.

Personally, I dont think its too late ( although nearly ).
But I think its getting too late to hold civilised meetings, write to your MP and do a little light recycling.

Frankly that wont cut it anymore (although I applaud those that *at least* do that).
and I dont think that attacking those that care about the issue is gonna help anyone - although it might make you feel better about yourself.
Save your anger for those that are too dumb to give a crap or consciously choose to ignore the situation.

At what point do we start actual action ?

Forget Demos to desperately catch the attention of disinterested corrupt corporate owned polititians, they've already proved themselves corrupt or just plain innefectual.
When do we start knocking down pylons, physically stopping polluters and shutting down motorways until "they" are FORCED to wake up and act in the long term benefit of us all ?

After all, its only the future of our species we're pissing away.
I really dont think that theres *anything* more important than the environment.
You can rant all you like for a communist/socialist/marxist/leninist/anarchist/leftist/rightist/anti-war/pro-war/luddite or technological utopia, but on a semi-dead flooded and quite possibly famine struck planet there'll be no-one around to give a shit.

I find it stunning that today, the BBC reports that some are worried that sticking to kyoto (innefectual or whatever who cares) would cause a 3% shrinkage in some economies.
Are we not generally rich enough already in western europe that we cant risk a devastating 3% shring in economy (/sarcasm) to at least *try* and save our sorry ass species !

Makes me wonder if we're worth saving at all sometimes.

Sure, I havent done any of the above either, but the clock is ticking for humanity.
