“On the assumption that Neil Williams actually wrote the whole thing, the following questions arise: -
1. What extra parliamentary opposition is being implied here? If it is those ‘meetings’ mostly held outside of the Bethnal Green and Bow Constituency then on that fact alone, the constituents are not being counted as mattering much.
2. Secondly, what are the criteria behind the selection of speakers and panellists that are presented at the meetings and the events? And who are the people that set the criteria and select the speakers and the panellists? Do they practise transparency and democracy? If so, on what web site do they publish their criteria, the membership of their group or the details or the names of the individuals who set those?
3. Neil Williams does not seem to have read the reports in which George Galloway has himself sought to justify his absence from that vote by referring to an alleged contractual obligation he had with a non-parliamentary agency. Does Neil Williams realise the enormity of the foolishness involved?
4. If extra-parliamentary opposition to the legislation is more important than opposition within parliament then why does George Galloway bother to stay in that Parliament? Or are we witnessing something of a process of complete boycott of parliament that the Galloway party will implement very soon?
