U.K and REGIONAL FORUMS and NEWSWIRES

Hello. This circular is intended to help you start the new year with access to a number of key activist forums and newswires across the U.K and South West. This list is by no means exhaustive. What is specific to these forums and newswires is that they are gateways through which you will eventually see a full spectrum of political and activist groups, events and news publicised. While this list is skewed towards the south west, it is intended as a gateway to key U.K forums and newswires.

I hope you find it useful in the years ahead.

1.) UK INDYMEDIA :
Visit:  http://www.indymedia.org.uk/
By visiting the site you can publish your own news and events which will appear on the right-hand column of the newswire shortly after submitting your article. If you have news of a more regional nature you may wish to visit one of the regional IMC's, listed on the left-hand column of the newswire. Indymedia was founded in opposition to government and corporate-sponsored media, and seeks to facilitate people being able to publish their media as directly as possible.

2.) BRISTOL (& SOUTH WEST!) INDYMEDIA :
Visit:  http://www.bristol.indymedia.org/
Bristol Indymedia now accepts posts from across the South West!
Especially those areas which are geographically its direct neighbours. i.e: Bristol, Bath, Somerset, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Dorset. You can post your own news directly onto the site by simply clicking the 'SUBMIT ARTICLE' button and filling out the form. BIMC also tends to accept post from near areas of Wales, such as Cardiff and Newport, although you may wish to visit Indycymru for all Wales news:
Visit:  http://www.indycymru.org.uk/

3.) LIBCOM.ORG :
Visit:  http://www.libcom.org/
Libcom.org has sections for all regions across the U.K which you can post your own news and events onto. Visit the main page and click on the appropiate region. There also exists a wide range of additional resources and articles accessed through the front page. LibCom.org intends to be a resource for all people who wish to fight to improve their lives, their communities and their working conditions. They want to discuss, learn from successes and failures of the past.

4.) SOCIAL FORUMS : LIBCOM.ORG :
Visit:  http://www.libcom.org/britain/social-forums.php
Libcom.org also has a page listing Social Forums across the U.K. There currently exists no recognised central hub to publicise U.K Social Forums through, so please visit this page to find a Social Forum near to you, and also please ask Libcom.org to publicise your local Social Forum. Local social forums have sprung up around the UK. Their purpose is to make links between groups and individuals, in the belief that getting together is vital for effective campaigning and local action.

5.) URBAN75 FORUMS :
Visit:  http://www.urban75.net/vbulletin/
Part of the Urban75 e-zine, which can be found here:  http://www.urban75.com/ You can post directly to the Urban75 Forums, which include a number of regional sections. "Urban75 serves up a non-mainstream viewpoint on a wide range of issues including environmental action, rave culture and civil rights, as well as offering essential drug information, rave rants and resources, cartoons, short stories, a popular photo gallery and, of course, 'the most useless games on the web'" (US Today).

Please visit and make use of all these forums and newswires to maximise your own publicity, and to find out what's happening across the U.K behind the censored facade of the mainstream media.

Happy new year!
