BBC should tell the truth about CrossraqIL HOLE Bill

Bethnal Green and Bow Constituency Activist | 12.01.2006 11:03 | Analysis | Ecology | Indymedia | London | World

The BBC is wrongly publicising Tower Hamlets Council ion relation to George Galloway but the BBC are not telling the truth about the Brick Lane London E1 Area campaign which is the real event as far as the Crossrail hole Bill is concerned.

So, we are here at last. Thursday 12 January 2006. And by all accounts,
George Galloway, the MP for Bethnal Green and Bow, is still not in his Constituency’. George Galloway is, to paraphrase Andrew Gilligan (in the
EVENING STANDARD - at page 13 on Tuesday 10 January 2006) yet to ‘get back to work’!
The ONE issue that all the apparently pro-democracy ‘reporters’, ‘writers’
and ‘commentators’ who have got themselves into print (and other forms of media) over the sleaze ball Channel 4 programme and the appearance
on it of George Galloway has been the alleged debate allegedly scheduled to take place today on the Crossrail Bill and the expected absence of Galloway from the House of Commons when the alleged debate takes Place.

Now, how extraordinary!

It would appear to any new observer from Mars or from another stellar
location if they were to pay attention to the antics of the lying British
media that the same media had been up in arms against the promoters of
the crass Crossrail Bill and that the same media had reported the
campaign against the Crossrail plan that has been taking place in the
very Bethnal Green and Bow Constituency for the past 24 months!
That the same lying British media general and the lying BBC in particular
had been so concerned for the welfare of the ‘constituents’ in ‘Bethnal
Green and Bow’ parliamentary constituency based in the East End of
London Borough of Tower Hamlets - whom the overly derided George
Galloway is set to ‘abandon’ during the House of Commons debate on
Crossrail today - that the media had devoted due prominence to the
campaign by those in the constituency who have cared for the defence of
their community against the Crossrail attacks that they established the
KHOODEELAAR! campaign to halt the Crossrail hole being made a
statutory right for the Crossrail promoting interests !

The Martian observers may look for such British media coverage of the
campaign against the Crossrail hole.

But they would look in vain.

The BBC and the other ‘mainstream’ media have continued the Blaring
policy of suppressing the news about the phenomenal grassroots
political action that has been going on for the past two years [since the
campaign against the Crossrail hole in the Brick Lane London E1 area
began on 31 January 2004 with the holding of the first community public
meeting in the Montefiore Centre situated at the corner of Hanbury Street
and Deal Street London E1 on that same date] in the East End of London
where the KHOODEELAAR! campaign has been actively defending the
existence of the Brick Lane London E1 Area against the planned assault
of the Crossrail hole plan Bill.

CONTRARY to the false assertions made on the BBC this morning
[Thursday 12 January 2006] for the ‘Tower Hamlets Council’ in the
context of the Crossrail hole Bill, the main opposition to the Crossrail hole
has been mobilised and is continuing to be mobilised by the
KHOODEELAAR movement that includes people from all walks of life and
from across the whole Borough in defence of the area that the Crossrail
promoters have wrongly chosen as the target for destruction.

And who did the Crossrail promoters use during the previous three years
to draw up that assault plan on the Brick Lane London E1 community?
Step forward the ‘leader’ of the ‘Tower Hamlets Council’, the very
postholder who has been given totally undeserved space in the media
over the past 24 hours at the expense of George Galloway and on the
issue of the alleged debate allegedly to take place in the UK House of
Commons on the very issue of Crsosrail and its implications on the
Constituency of Bethnal Green and Bow.

It is the very same Michael Keith who is under legal action notices from
community activist in the Bethnal Green and Bow constituency -a and
others from the Poplar and Canning Town Constituency - for Keith’s cited
Remarks, statement and roles.

Member of the community who have confirmed their intention t take legal
action against Michael Keith include some of the front line campaigners
against the Crossrail hole Bill.

The campaigners pint out that Michael Keith has not behaved in an
impartial, neutral way over Crossrail plan and that it has been Michael
Keith, more than any other member of the present majority side of
councillors on Tower Hamlets Council, who has defied the local community’s interests and plugged away for the interests that want to
devastate and destroy parts of Tower Hamlets so that they can facilitate
Big Business to take over those parts.
