Where next after ‘Make Poverty History?’

Oxford World Development Movement, members of the Make Poverty History coalition, are organising a public conference looking back on what was achieved in the fight against world poverty in 2005; what was the true meaning of the G8 debt deal? What really happened at the World Trade Organisation talks in Hong Kong? Above all, what are our future challenges in the fight for justice for the world’s poor?
Speakers include:
- Kofi Mawuli-Klu, Chair of the Pan-Afrikan Taskforce for Internationalist Dialogue
- Paul Kingsnorth, Writer and Environmental Campaigner
- Marlene Barrett, WDM Network Manager

No only joking, just had to get in before all the nutters ;-)
Sounds good. Um, yeah MPH did have dodgy elements stifling the more radical voices inside the coalition, and preventing anti-war groups from joining. And the whole thing was totally overshadowed by Geldof and his pop concert. So constructive criticism of this stuff is important. But it's fair to say that there were a lot of good groups inside MPH. They just need to learn the lessons of what went wrong, and perhaps form a coalition seperate from the more new-labour friendly ngo's and steer clear of all the celebrity bollox. Which is what they probably wanted to do anyway.

As there is no god and all the poeple that belive there is are delusional we better get rid of churches for thier own good.
We need to save them and ourselves from thier addiction (The condition of being habitually or compulsively occupied with or or involved in something).
