Girls body parts used in kebabs

The story concerns a schoolgirl who went missing in the Blackpool area and two muslim men who appeared in Blackpool Magistrates Court on Thursday (9th). Iyad Albattakhi, 28 was in the dock charged with murdering 14 year old Charlene Downes and Mohammed Raveshi, 49, was charged with assisting in the disposal of her body. The schoolgirl went missing on 1st November 2003 and despite an intensive police hunt her body has never been recovered but police are working on the line that her body was cut up and disposed off via a takeaway owned by Albattakhi and Raveshi, with late night customers being offered kebabs and burgers at Funny Boyz in Dickson Road containing the remains of the schoolgirl. Police are also working on the forensic story that her bones were ground for use as tile grout.
During the inquiry Police searched the premises of three Blackpool curry houses. 3000 men were asked to supply DNA samples and the disappearance was the subject of a BBC Crimewatch broadcast. The men have been remanded in custody after making no pleas.
