Action Alert: Jericho prison under violent siege
ISM Media Office | 14.03.2006 13:41 | Anti-militarism | Repression
One Palestinian prison guard and a prisoner from the Al-Aqsa Martyr Brigades have already been killed in the siege and eight other prisoners are wounded. The IOF is not allowing the injured people or bodies to be evacuated from the prison. Ahmad Sa’adaat stated in a telephone interview with Al Jazeera tv that he will not leave the prison voluntarily and will fight the IOF that will try to take him by force.
British and American monitors left the prison in advance of the Israeli invasion. Their presence is an integral part of the agreement between the PA and the Israeli government on the protection of the five PFLP members. The abandonment of the prisoners points to cooperation of the US and UK governments with the Israelis in this invasion.
Protest this opportunistic violent crime by calling the Israeli Defense Ministry in Tel Aviv and the representatives of the American and British governments. Demand the end of the invasion and respect for signed treaties.
