CRAWLEY BNP LEAFLETTING TOTALLY DISRUPTED

Around twenty local anti-fascists stopped Crawley BNPs attempts to leaflet Ifield and Southgate on St George's Day.

The canvassing (to support the far right party's electioneering efforts in Crawley) was intended as a photo opportunity for the mainstream press. Held at 10.00 on Sunday great efforts had been taken with secrecy but when you're as unpopular as the BNP then word doesn't take long to leak out!

At the first sight of opposition the master race fled to their vehicles and refused to come out and leaflet eventually ignominiously ending up begging for help at the police station.

I know lets make stories up about us brave anti fas that will stop the BNP. Ermmm been told anti fas asked for Police help. Never mind 4th of May who do you think will get the most seats Respect or the BNP.

I understand that over 2000 leaflets were put out by the BNP in Crawley on St George's Day. And canvassing was carried out in Furnace Green and West Green - all this apparently whilst the "fearless anti-fascists" were either standing around getting a well-needed soaking from the rain at Ifield Parade or were chasing BNP "ghosts" around Ifield. The reporter from the Crawley Observer was not well pleased! And on top of all that, the "anti-fascists" all got filmed by the Police, not to mention by certain other people. All in all, a bit of a bloody fiasco by the sounds of it.
