Art Not Oil Launch Party - Saturday 10th at 8pm

Art Not Oil is a rolling exhibition aimed at encouraging artists to create work that explores the damage that oil companies are doing to the planet, and the role art can play in counteracting that damage. As well as exposing the destructive practices of the oil industry the exhibition explores the alternatives to fossil fuel madness. The new exhibition for 2006 will be launched with an extravaganza of oil-free cabaret, films, café, bar and live music from Rhythms of resistance, Sarah Bear, The Rub & many more. All the money raised from the launch party will go towards making the climate camp happen in August. The exhibition will be at the 491 Gallery from the 10th to 24th June. For more info check out www.artnotoil.org.uk.

Demonstration Against Repression! - Saturday 10th at 7.30pm

In the last few weeks and months there has been a dramatic increase in state repression of social movements. From everywhere on earth we are hearing stories of beatings, imprisonment, torture, sexual abuse, raids, arrests and other violence against those who resist political, social and economic domination of their lives and destruction of their planet. From environmental activists in the USA, adherents of the 'Other Campaign' in Mexico and student protesters in occupied West Papua, to migrants and peace activists in the UK, gay and lesbian activists in Russia and anarchists all across Europe have been targeted by authorities. So, please bring banners, leaflets, noise etc and join us outside Bank Tube Station, on the corner of Princes St and Threadneedle St.

The World Naked Bike Ride (Against oil dependency) - Saturday 10th at 2.30pm

Now in it's third year, the World Naked Bike ride is a unique protest against oil dependency and a celebration of the bike and body! Nudity not required, the ride is truly clothing optional - go as bare as you dare! There is a photography policy to protect people from unwelcome photos. Assemble at Wellington Arch (Hyde Park Corner). www.worldnakedbikeride.org/uk/london
