Israeli Aggression on Lebanon: What kind of WMD causes this damage?

Expatica, Netherlands | 25.07.2006 15:55 | Lebanon War 2006 | Anti-militarism | World

Beirut 6/21/06: I left the office early last night; at midnight. There was only one devastating picture yesterday: that of two people who were killed in air strikes on Akkar, (the poorer area) in the north, late Wednesday night. Both corps were black, both were dismembered, both were "weird". I don't think it matters anymore to try to prove that Israel is using unconventional, forbidden weapons .. that would only prove that it should have used "allowed" weapons. Who cares, people are dying anyway. And whatever weapons are being used, the pollution they're creating will kill the survivors from cancer later...........

Beirut 6/21/06 UPDATED - What kind of weapons causes this damage? UPDATED

This is what we were able to find out today locally: The main points from our reports today are:

1- What Zeinab was able to find out about electromagnetic arms: please check  http://uk.oneworld.net/article/view/136518/1/5795

2- The director of Nabatiyeh National Hospital in the south , dr Hassan Wazni , talks about "vacuum bombs, it vacuums the air out of the body and stops the breathing and thus the heart stops operating. He also speaks about one death case , that of Sadek Hamed (12) whose caused is still unknown (medically) .

3- A spokesman for the army , said on record that the Israelis are using "bombs with special fillings" that could include internationally forbidden material.

4- The director of Marjeyoun national hospital (south) dr Mo'ness Kalakesh speaks about abnormal cases they treated: weird burns that make the skin glued and almost impossible to treat. These are people whose either arms or legs were hurt.

... israels survival ...

25.07.2006 16:25

israels survival neccesitates the embroiling of the whole region into there military aggression.

... thus anything that enrages the arab/muslim populations works towards that end.

Then the use of these expensive amerikan made and paid ghastly weapons against defenceless civilain populations is intended for that purpose ...

... in other words this is part of the psyops against the indiginous grassroots movements of those regions ...

AS WELL AS BEING A LEGALLY DEFINED WAR CRIME.

expansionism goals

Israel's survival certainly does not neccesitate the embroiling of the whole region into their military aggression. .

Israel's planned territorial expansion certainly does neccesitate it though IMO.

who cares

re: cause of injuries. some info

26.07.2006 14:46

its difficult to make any certain pronouncements about the cause of the injuries shown in the photo.

lets get real. explosions (from bombs/missiles) cause fire and blast injuries. the injuries in the photo are consistent with any type of aerial munition.

the military ( in this case, israeli) would not normally use phosphorous devices from the air: the normal intended use of phos is as an artillery munition as a flare, to illuminate target positions before the 'proper' weapon, ie explosive, is used.

phos is useful against bunkers or other entrenched positions (basically it makes the people inside the defensive position jump about a lot, making them easier to whack)

brits used them in grenade form against argentinian positions in the falklands. very effectively. the phos ignites on contact with air.

trying to pat out the fire only spreads the flame. it will continue to burn until either a) there is no more oxygen or b) there is nothing left to consume. .

bear in mind that every weapon is chemical-based.

phos is not a chemical weapon (like a neurotoxin or mustard-gas shell). its use against 'civilian' positions is not approved but in war, in all its horror, fuck civilians. that's the reality.

look at the hiroshima, dresden, north vietnam.....

people get freaked by 'chemical' weapons but seem to accept the 'normal' weapons such as high explosive. its hypocisy.

weapons are weapons, death is death, loss is loss.

>its difficult to make any certain pronouncements about the cause of the injuries shown in the photo.

That is true but other photos show bodies charred or blackened with unsinged hair. What sort of weapon burns flesh but not hair ? I think even WP burns hair, it just doesn't burn cotton clothes as far as I know.

>lets get real. explosions (from bombs/missiles) cause fire and blast injuries. the injuries in the photo are consistent with any type of aerial munition.
In that photo yes, it was a poor example. Look at the 13th photo from the top, there is a burned corpse with unsinged hair. Don't you find that strange ? What could cause that ? There have been similar corspes shown on various media.

>the military ( in this case, israeli) would not normally use phosphorous devices from the air: the normal intended use of phos is as an artillery munition as a flare, to illuminate >target positions before the 'proper' weapon, ie explosive, is used.

You seem out of date - didn't you know WP has been acceptable as a direct weapon against a civilian populace ever since the US Marines WP-ed Fallujah ? Wiley Pete is actually one of the less offensive illegal weapons in the IDF arsenal that could cause that sort of partial burning, and even then the hair surviving is unique- various other chemical agents could cause that too more plausibly. But it does count as a chemical weapon and it is morally and legally dodgy.

>phos is useful against bunkers or other entrenched positions (basically it makes the people inside the defensive position jump about a lot, making them easier to whack)
You are obviously an ex-squaddie. You'd run around too if someone shelled you with WP. Remember we are not talking about two armies fighting each other, we are talking about a dads-army militia attacking an occupying force that has armour, artillery and air-supremacy. Whacking someone you have outgunned 100-1 and have just started burning to the bone isn't cool, it is a crime.

>brits used them in grenade form against argentinian positions in the falklands. very effectively. the phos ignites on contact with air.
Yeah, we used to throw it and magnesium at each other getting changed for football after chemistry but thank god we always missed.

>trying to pat out the fire only spreads the flame. it will continue to burn until either a) there is no more oxygen or b) there is nothing left to consume. .
I bet you were in the Falklands. You are bound to have heard some horror story about some squaddie getting a WP fragment in them while training, or at least some cautionary tale about what it does to the enemy. It just burns to the bone. The slightest fragment has to be dug out of your own flesh with a knife asap, that's the only way to survive. More than a fragment and you will have a quick and awful death, if you are lucky. Even if it doesn't land on you, the gas it gives off will burn your lungs and you'll die. This is the shit you are rationalising because I suspect you never thought it would be used against you or your kin.

Like I say, the Israelis have already being identified as using DU shells, all armies now use WP on civilians seemingly, the real question is could the unusual burns that leave the hair alone be something even worse like the nerve agent you first mentioned ?

>bear in mind that every weapon is chemical-based.
Too true, even the sword is:

Name: Iron Symbol: Fe
Group: Trans. Met. Atomic weight: 55.847
Density @ 293 K: 7.86 g/cm3 Atomic volume: 7.1 cm3/mol
Group: Trans. Met. discovered: 0

I'd rather swallow iron than phospherous or uranium or many other things.

>phos is not a chemical weapon (like a neurotoxin or mustard-gas shell).

Oh,that is what they told you in the army to get you to throw the damn grenades into trenches but that isn't true, WP in quantity - like it was used in Fallujah - does give off a poisonous toxic gas that is corrosive to flesh but not material, it kills as many as direct contact does. Myself, I think the Lebanese victims look different to the WP photos of civilians from Falluja but I'm not really qualified to offer a medical opinion. I'm just saying it could be a deployment of a different and perhaps even worse weapon than WP, perhaps as bad as a neurotoxin. Doesn't look like mustard gas to me but I am going by WW1 photos for that.

>its use against 'civilian' positions is not approved but in war, in all its horror, fuck civilians. that's the reality.

Hahaaha...now I now you are ex-army ! Or still serving perhaps ? Civilians are indeed fucked. Do you know 100 years ago 90% of war casualities were soldiers, and today 90% of war casualties are civilians. To hell with the people you are meant to be fighting for though.

>look at the hiroshima, dresden, north vietnam.....
>people get freaked by 'chemical' weapons but seem to accept the 'normal' weapons such as high explosive. its hypocisy.

Hiroshima wasn't what you'd call normal explosives I hope you are just contrasting the similar death-tolls across the second world war and various munitions. In Desden similar numbers were slaughtered in what was as much a war-crime as Hiroshima, but in Hiroshima the victims kept suffering through the generations due to the radioactivity. Both were unprosecuted war-crimes which I guess is your point, victors justice. Do you think the second world war is really a valid parallel to 2006 ? Do you really think Al-Qaeda are seriously poised to invade and overrun the UK like Hitler could have ?

>weapons are weapons, death is death, loss is loss.
Some deaths are unecessary. Some weapons and military practices are explicitly illegal under international law - from the general principle of not bombarding civilian areas or indiscriminately of the Vienna treaty to the Nuremberg principles that the British Army fought for in 45 amongst other salutary lessons from the history of mans inhumanity to man - and today soldiers like the Israelis and the US who are currently victorious and self-judging should learn from history there is always a price for brutality to civilians.

Following orders is no excuse.

salut

Shrunken bodies

28.07.2006 17:21

"We are seeing abnormal burns, different from wars we've seen in the past. The corpses of these victims are shrinking to half their normal size. You think it is the corpse of a child at first but it turns out to be a grown man," said Raed Salman Zeinedine, director of Tyre Government Hospital.
