Palestinian Prime Minister Ismael Haniyeh was greeted with entusiatic cheers from many thousands of supporters today in the Yarmouk Stadion in Gaza City. In his speech Haniyeh accused some domestic and international parties of being involved in imposing the siege on the Palestinians, describing the sanctions lead by the USA as "unjust and unfair.

"We were elected for the resistance platform we presented to the Palestinian people, we did not come with tanks, or with the coalition of Israel and the USA."

The Prime Minister wondered what the lack of salaries have to do with violent disorder, and added that the government respected the democracy of the territories. "We did not imprison anyone for their opinion or if he is opposing us."

The Prime Minister Haniyeh, briefly fainted during his speech. He was immediately treated and returned to continue his entuastic speech.

Haniyeh said that the government agreed to have money transferred from international sources to government employees through the presidency, and that they have done this to preserve national unity. These transactions resulted in the part-payments seen over the last few months.

The Prime Minister questioned the official media attacking the government, asking "Where in the world does the official media attack the government?" He spoke about the financial issues facing the Palestinian territories, and mentioned large quantities saved by the government, saying that his government did not take or borrow any money from any country.

He declared that he is going to do his best to make the national government dialogue a success. In regard to Gil'ad Shalit, the Israeli soldier captured in Gaza, he said that he will not be released, except in an exchange of prisoners.

Haniyeh stated that he has given orders to his interior minister to do his best to bring to an end the state of chaos and lack of security. In addition, he demands that every one involved in the recent assassinations must be brought to justice.

In conclusion, Prime Minister Haniyeh called upon the leaders of both the Fatah and Hamas movements to convene immediately, and end the state of domestic turmoil. He finally adressed to Mahmoud Abbas to travel to Gaza to continue the dialogue over unity government which has already been started.
