Australian State Govt moves to ban 'riot' game

"It promotes acts of violence against members of the community - simple as that, and not only promotes it, glorifies it, encourages, incites people to engage in acts of violence using the riots of last year and as such it has no place in our community."

New South Wales Premier Morris Iemma has condemned a board game promoting last year's Cronulla riots.

The game, called Cronulla Monopoly, allows players to buy and sell land in the Sutherland Shire and donate money to extremist political parties.

Mr Iemma says he is looking at options to ban the website from which the game is available for download.

"The Commonwealth has responsibility for regulating Internet content and it may well be that the Federal Minister for Communications could have powers to either shut it down or block access," he said.

"Secondly, we're seeking legal advice as to whether it offends the New South Wales Anti-Discrimination Act.

Cronulla 2230

Win Back Australia!

A free board game for Aussies
The board game for Aussies - commemorating the efforts of all those who had the guts to come along to the rally at Cronulla on 11th December 2005 to defend the Aussie way of life. They were there to protect ordinary Australians from the Lebanese thugs who travel in packs and gang up on innocent individuals, especially women.
Dedicated to all those who stood up for the freedoms of all fair dinkum Aussies.

Click here to see a large picture of the Board (463kb).
To play, download the PDF files below (including the PDF Board), and print them out.

The aim of the game
The object of the game is to become the wealthiest person in the Sutherland Shire through the buying, renting, and selling of property.
The gaining of such wealth will enable you to fund patriotic organisations like Australia First and the Patriotic Youth League, so they can get into parliament and Win Back Australia!

Equipment pieces
The game's equipment consists of 1 board, 28 Title Deeds (one for each of the 28 properties; plus 8 blank Title Deeds), 71 Aussie Luck cards (48 are good luck cards; 23 are bad luck cards), player tokens, house tokens, hotel tokens, and game money. 2 dice are also required to play the game.

Equipment from PDF files
This game has been designed to be printed from PDF files. The game board and Title Deeds are best printed via a colour printer. It is suggested that the Aussie Luck cards, house tokens, hotel tokens, and game money should be printed onto different coloured sheets of paper.
For ease of production, players may wish to create their own player tokens (use small items from around the house); whilst 5 cent pieces can be used as house tokens, and 10 cent pieces can be used as hotel tokens.
For ease of play, the four A4 sheets that comprise the playing board should be carefully glued onto a large sturdy piece of white cardboard (as the board would normally be folded in half, remember to leave room in the middle of the board for the folding crease; the crease can be efficiently created by using a ruler and cutting blade to slightly cut the other side of the cardboard sheet). To avoid damage from food and drink spills, the board should be laminated on both sides (using Contact or Duraseal; i.e. self-adhesive clear polypropylene - book covering).

Alternative
If you have any other game with money and playing pieces, then you could use those pieces instead, and would only need to print the Board, Aussie Luck cards, Title Deeds, and Rules.

PDF files
These PDF files will all fit onto one disk (1.38mb).

Essential PDF files:
Board Print out the four pages, in colour, and glue them together onto a large piece of stiff cardboard (get one from your local newsagent) (4 pages).
Aussie Luck Cards Print them out, cut them into matching sizes (9 pages).
Title Deeds Print them out, preferably in colour, cut them into matching sizes (3 pages).
Rules (5 pages).

Non-essential PDF files:
Money Print your own money for the game, or use "play money" from any other game as an alternative.
Tokens Print your own tokens, or use tokens from any other game as an alternative.
Cover If you have a box to put your game in, glue this on the box cover.
