Indymedia UK overrun by racists suppressing all Muslim posts

Justthought | 23.10.2006 20:12 | Anti-racism | Indymedia | Social Struggles | London | World

UK indymedia has removed a number of 'Muslim' posts during today.

The day has been doubly significant. End of Ramadan and also the day when Blair came under new attacks from within the British establishment for overdoing the anti-Muslim propaganda

Indymedia UK overrun by racists suppressing all Muslim posts.

That is, posts bearing names that the racist operatives reckon may be Muslim!

On the day of the biggest religious and cultural significance for Muslims, the emptiness of Indymedia UK of contents relating to the Eid festival is a very bold dare to the world by those who are controlling the sites.

These operators are with Blair and Bush when it comes to suppressing freedom of speech to Muslims!

This practice disentitles the UK indymedia 'kollectives' from claiming any moral standing to say anything apparently critical about anyone, including about GW Bush.

By suppressing Muslim posts or posts created and filed by Muslims, the UK indymedia are doing worse than GW Bush...

Unless the UK indymedia 'Kollective' can show their hand and say they no longer bother with genuine debate or campaign and that they are falling in line behind GW Bash and Bliar and others.

Why the fuck should IMC report EID celebrations?!! FFS what cunting planet are you on! Maybe IMC should do a feature on Xmas, maybe cover the birth of christ in bethelme?

Indymedia worse than Bush and Blair? Too true. Only last week those bastards from Indymedia were bombing Iraq, fighting the brave Taliban resistance and selling phosphorous weapons to Israel.

Glad to see you've got a handle on all of this...

Can we have a bit more clarity here please - which posts exactly?

23.10.2006 22:17

Which posts do you mean?
This one?

I certainly can't see why this might be hidden - rather sinister

Is Indymedia part of the current hatred of Allah, G_D and Christ?

Back all religions that uphold rights of others

24.10.2006 00:18

Yes. Show all religious festivals, events.

And Christian as an ongoing theme on all media.

Think about the propaganda role played by the media. Think of the General's recent interview in the Daily Mail. Was it influential? If yes, then that is similar to the role played by any indymedia behaviour.

What happens when 'public opinion' is shown to be for or against a policy?

It is not necessary to have physical weapons to cause violation and violence. Without a certain amount of public opinion 'accepting' any policy, the policy arguments become hard to maintain.

So the war is being fought on two main levels. One on the physical ground and one on the world and the 'national' public opinion levels.

That is where Indymedia's suppression is exposed to legitimate criticism.

If the 'Kollectives' had no role or relevance then so many 'topical' 'Iraq' related posts would not have been filed.

Every cause deserves advocacy. Every agreement deserves publicity.

If it is okay for indymedia to suppress one group because that group appears to be Muslim then how can the rights of other religious groups be upheld while the rights of Muslims are being denied?

Likewise, no supporter of Muslim rights can deny the religious rights of others.

Does the world deserve to be locked in content hateful exchanges or does the world deserve to be respectful and tolerant?

If Indymedia cannot accommodate a truthful expression of factual opinion then what makes it different from the state-owned, state-controlled media that we already know about?

This is of course a post that is being filed here on a very basic level. Deeper and longer details involved ion the brief comment made here are assumed to be understood by any genuine surfer or visitor. Trollers are being assumed to be excluded from the possible
Participation. Trollers are doing their own designated job!
