Asylum seekers at Yarl's Wood have claimed today that Yarl's Wood IRC is quarantined and that visitors are not being allowed in due to the dangerous health conditions there.

Asylum seekers at Yarl's Wood have claimed today that Yarl's Wood IRC is quarantined. visitors are not being allowed in. Over 40 of the children are suffering from diarrhoea and vomiting and are not eating the foul food being fed to them. 'They want us to die here' one said to NWASDG today. Even though solicitors have written to Yarl's Wood IRC asking for the women to be released on bail or temporary release the racist immigration authorities have refused.

My friend in Yarls Wood told me the same thing and that they are planning to thoroughly clean and re-paint the family (C) wing.

The sickness and diarrhoea have been going on for a good few weeks and many detainees have been in hospital for short periods.

Hunger Strike at Yarl's Wood

25 mothers detained in Yarl's Wood will be on Hunger strike tomorrow (Friday) protesting the conditions in Yarl's Wood (some may already be refusing food). There has been an outbreak of diarrhea amongst the under fives in the last few days.
