Request to Introduce MIRO Technologies to Army Aviation : Integrated Inventory, Maintenance and Logistics Management Control and Information Systems

Dear Sir,

It is with pleasure that we are writing to introduce MIRO Technologies, a UK/USA company dedicated to the design and implementation of world-class integrated inventory management control and information systems for aftermarket Airline and aerospace and defence applications. These are in service with most of the world’s leading defence OEMs, such as Boeing, and military users include the US Department of Defense, the UK Ministry of Defence (Royal Navy since 1993), NASA, the Royal Australian Air Force and the Royal Malaysian Air Force since 1981, starting with General Dynamics. We have just delivered the new WRAM Online, on time and under budget, to the UK MoD, and will be going live, initially with the British Army’s fleet of AH-64 Apache Attack Helicopter Fleet. We are likely to be visiting Pakistan in June 2006 and would welcome the opportunity of meeting you and your colleagues in Engineering and Maintenance.

The key to MIRO Technologies’ success is its ability to offer a single platform that enables real-time management and control of assets between rear echelon/base support locations through every engineering and maintenance level, at whatever location within the chain concerned, through to Headquarter Staffs, and through to front line deployment locations, within a single system. Once embedded, the status of each component “assetâ€, each expendable material item, each engine, each platform, can be viewed by any member of any authorised part of the inventory management, maintenance and engineering and logistic chain.

Our core product is GOLD. This is a modular end-to-end through life system with the ability to interface with customer and government systems. It provides a seamless interface from end-user to all levels of maintenance and supply, including the OEM. Electronically replacing log books and hard documentation, with the ability to track all movements, updating mission hours on all components, raising work/job cards, and forecasting scheduled and record un-scheduled removals, all screens are designed to match the end-user’s documentation, and provide the ability to electronically sign-off and authorise work. This adds real benefit in reducing man-hours spend on non-core activities, preventing duplication of effort and providing effort-free maintenance scheduling. In addition, remotely sited management are enabled access to the information required to allow them to make decisions based on asset availability. It thereby provides access to timely, relevant and accurate information on assets available for operational use, and minimising the deployed logistical footprint as a consequence.

Key OEM customers of MIRO Technologies including Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Rolls-Royce (Via T45 Goshawk) and Northrop Grumman. Key platforms supported include F/A18 Super Hornet, F/A 22 Raptor, C17 Globemaster, C130 Hercules, AH-64 Attack Helicopters, Lynx helicopters, Sea Harriers, Gazelle Helicopters, Global Hawk and Predator UAV, PW F119 engines and T45 Goshawk (BAE Systems Hawk Variant). Within one of our programmes, T45 Goshawk “Goldâ€, The system enables 17,000 maintenance work actions per month within a fleet of 160 aircraft, enables every work order and every inventory purchase for every tracked component to be managed at every level of its logistics, maintenance and engineering activity. It enables global asset visibility and through-life management capability. It is essentially a combined and integrated:

Management information system
Logistics tool, and
Unit Maintenance Management tool.

The entire UK military and naval fleets of aircraft are managed through our “WRAM†(Work Reporting and Asset Management) system. Over 500 aircraft operating in a diverse set of British, European and overseas locations are managed through one integrated WRAM system. The operational, logistic and economic benefits combined with its ability to integrate at all levels of the chain, offers the UK MoD a “tool of control†of key assets that has never been possible before. It is now possible to “see at a glance†the operational availability of the fleet, or the availability and maintenance status of key component assets across the fleet, or indeed, the status of individual part numbered store items at their individual locations (working towards Fatigue Indexing calculations, but already providing Penalty Fatigue Numbering), and, naturally, complete asset histories. In addition, WRAM offers users the ability to monitor the effectiveness of in-service equipment support, maintenance policies, equipment performance and life cycle costing. References regarding the system and its ability to generate True Asset visibility are available on request.

Every item can be tracked, individually or cumulatively, throughout its repair process. Forecasts of scheduled maintenance can be made readily available. The interface between 1st and 2nd line maintenance, back to 3rd and 4th line and beyond to the contracted OEM concerned, together with complete inventory and procurement management, are some of WRAM’s key benefits.

MIRO Technologies are skilled at implementing new systems and expanding existing ones to meet new and demanding requirements in the fast-moving world of today’s technology. If you would like to learn more about MIRO Technologies and its sytems, please advise the aircraft types which you would consider this system relevant to, and I or my colleague and Head of Sales (Europe and Middle East), Richard Hopkins, would be delighted to assist in the preparation of a presentation for you.

Yours faithfully,

C S P HuntXX
