Gordon Brown in Manchester 16th May 5pm Stop the War Protest

Stop the War | 15.05.2007 19:26 | Iraq | Liverpool

Gordon Brown! Bring the Troops Back in 100 days!

"This Wednesday evening (16th May), with the kind support of The
Co-operative
Group, the Labour Party will host an exclusive opportunity for North
West Labour and Co-operative Party members to meet Rt Hon Gordon Brown
MP and discuss with him his aspirations to lead our country."

Stop the War will be campaigning for Britain's 'future leader' to
withdraw British Troops from the occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan.

When Gordon Brown holds his 'conversation' with Labour Party members
in Manchester we will hold a lobby from 5pm onwards outside the
meeting. Labour members who are opposed to the war will raise the
question of troops home inside the meeting.

1. Withdraw British troops from Iraq no later than October 2007.
2. Declare that this country will not participate in any attack against
Iran.
3. Pursue a foreign policy independent of the administration of the United
States of America."

Everything thats wrong with Stop the War

Why is it that the Stop the War movement is largely ineffectual?
Well one of the main reasons is spelled out in this call to 'action'. Why after four years of bloody occupation, with up to a million Iraqi deaths caused by the actions of the US and the Labour government is Stop the War merely calling for a lobby of Gordon Brown? Not only that but Labour Party members attending his election meeting are going to ask civilised questions over his support for the war.
A Stop the War movement worthy of its name would be calling for mass protest against this warcriminals visit with the aim of stopping the meeting taking place, not collaborating with members of the blood soaked Labour Party.

all i wanna say is that want you put was very well put!

we need to BREAK from labour, not support this war mongering, racist, imperialist labour party.

why would you want to URGE Gordon Brown not to do certain things "on behalf of millions of British voters to". as i do NOT vote, so Stop the War are not speaking on my behalf, the same way that the tories, labour, etc do NOT speak on my behalf.....thus why i do not vote!

LABOUR PARTY! WAR PARTY!

LABOUT PARTY! RACIST PARTY!
