Tortured political scapegoat and now the legendary Mr David Hicks - held for 5.5 years in isolation and forced to submit under duress for US/ Australian terrorism supporter's G W Bush and John Howard -, is expected leave gitmo Bay prison and the torture centre in Cuba within the next few hours. Yay!
Mr David Hicks is being transferred to Adelaide's Yatala Prison for a further nine-months [implemented] punishment to provide material support for George W Bush's false and rather misleading 'war on terror. And in support of John Howard's re election campaign.
The political scapegoat and now legend in his own time is expected to have left gitmo by the end of the day on a jet chartered by the Australian government.
Mr David Hicks is being accompanied by South Australian prison officials, federal police officers and his Adelaide lawyer, David McLeod.
At all material times David Hicks spent five years and four months at the gitmo Bay prison and torture centre isolated and used as a political pawn and scapegoat for the war criminal's G W Bush, John Howard and their cronies.
David Hicks's father Terry says there is still no indication exactly when his son will return to Australia.
He says the only guarantee his family has been given is that consular officers will tell them when his son is in Yatala Prison.

But the Australian government has a political problem, he said, because for five years they've labeled Hicks an accused terrorist or a terror suspect. Theyve admitted that if Hicks was brought home they could not charge him with anything because he has not committed a crime under Australian law. Mr Bob Brown says the transfer of David Hicks from Guantanamo Bay in Cuba to Adelaide on a chartered flight will cost taxpayers up to $500,000.
Mr David Hicks is being moved to Yatala prison for a further nine-months [implemented] punishment to provide material support for George W Bush's false and rather misleading 'war on terror. And in support of John Howard's re election campaign.
Senator Brown says the process is absurd.
"They spent a $250,000 bringing Mamdouh Habib back to Australia some years ago, Hicks should've been on that plane - zero extra cost," he said.
"Now we're paying $250,000 to $500,000 extra to bring [David] Hicks back now.
"If John Howard had had the gumption to ring George Bush three years ago, and have the two prisoners brought back together, we wouldn't have all this cost, we wouldn't have all this farce.
"It's now been turned into high political farce by the Howard Government - special planes, secrecy, high drama but it'll leave in most Australians' minds a sense of absurdity.
"This should never have happened."

Mr. Habib said he was taken to a room with hooks on the wall and a barrel, set sideways like a roller, on the floor. His arms were stretched out, he said, and each wrist was handcuffed and fastened to a hook on the wall. By his description, the only way not to be left hanging was to stand on the barrel; an electric wire ran through it. Mr. Habib said he believed the interrogators in that room were Pakistani. Mr. Habib said that when he refused to confess to being part of a 1995 terror plot, one man turned on the current. He lifted his feet to avoid the shock, he recalled, and he was suspended from the wall. "I lost everything," he said.

The court was also told that the Government will be mounting two confidential defences in the case - one of which will only be released to Mr Habib's lawyers.

It is believed Mr David Hicks is now being flown to Adelaide's Yatala prison, where he will complete a further nine-months [implemented] punishment to provide material support for George W Bush's false and rather misleading 'war on terror. And in support of John Howard's re election campaign.
Terry Hicks says the federal government is trying to paint his son as a dangerous terrorist.
"The Government won't divulge the time of leaving, the time of arrival, only the time that he arrives in Yatala prison," he said.
Mr Hicks says he is afraid his son will be demonised when he returns to Australia.
He says he is angry South Australian Premier Mike Rann has described his son as potential terrorist threat.
"My argument to Mr Rann is get David's charge sheet and have a look to see where [it says] he's killed, bombed anything, blown anything up or done any harm to anyone - then make your claims," he said.
"But he won't find them."
