on the 29 of may the spanish police arrested by order of „Interpol“ the turkish communist Binali Yilidirm at the „Kontiki Playa“-Hotel on Mallorca. Binali Yildirim was on holidays with his football team. Reason for the arrest was a request for extradition from Turkey.
Binali Yildirm was 1995 arrested and in 1996 convicted to lifetime. The turkish special court accused him to be involved in six attacks against soliders/policemen as a member of the Dev Sol and later the maoist TIKKO guerrilla.
In 2001 he took part in the deathfast against F-Type cells. After more then 70 days of hungerstrike he was released for 6 months. The gouvernment wanted him to die outside the prison. When he was outside the prison he moved to Germany where he lived for the last 4 years.
Even though he has a legal status in Germany he was arrested by the spanish police and they will move him to Madrid within the next days. The responsible judge for his case will be Baltazar Garzón who doesn´t care about international agreements for refugees.
We would like to call to all people to demand the immediatly freedom for Binali Yildrim.
